Canadian beer
Just because it is sort of topical (and educational), I give you the latest (Canadian) patriotic offering from Molson that landed in my in-box this afternoon. It made me homesick.

I favored the black squirrel shot. What's up with the Scot accent on the guy? Showing diversity of drunks from all booze driven countries?

That's the idea, I think. Where I grew up, many people have Scottish or Irish accents. Lots of people came over in the 60's and 70's from there and have not lost their accents.

Anyone seen a good movie recently? I'm ready to go the movies for the first time in a while, and I'd like some recommendations.
Leinenkugel's gets my thumbs-up. I even toured the brewery, back in the day. I was probably one of the few people to bicycle across several state lines to get there.

Winged Migration and Once Upon a Time in Mexico are my two next sees.
Which may mean, though, when they come to blockbuster.

You people drink weird shit. I have never heard of any of the beers you've been discussing. Outside of Molsons. And Coors.
In high school we drank Lucky, Rainier or Heidelberg. Or Bud when we got our allowances. Schmidt animal beer was strictly college.

If you haven't seen Pirates of the Caribbean, I'd highly recommend that. I'm headed to Once Upon a Time in Mexico at some point this weekend.

American Splendor. If you haven't read any, try and read some of the comics first. I think they are on the net.

An uncle of mine was a Gennie Cream Ale distributor. I've had plenty of those beer balls. Also had Iron City and Iron City Light in beer balls.
Anyone ever try Golden Anniversary? Only a couple of bucks a case, but nasty!

Don't play kickball in bare feet with an empty beer ball.

Don't know why, but that reminded me of playing beer croquet. Now that's good times.

Beer croquet? I'm not familiar with that event.
Leinie's aren't bad. First had them in Minnesota, found them at a beer store in Jersey, and was shocked to find a Leinie's brew pub outside of the Diamondbacks stadium.
Another favorite from HS was Heffenreffer aka Green Monsters. They (and Ballentine) had the puzzle caps, but you usually couldn't see straight enough to read them.
Anne
Trivia tidbit: the original Sam Adams Brewery in Boston is located in the old Heffenreffer brewery.

There are plenty of packies in new england. well, not plenty, because the damn puritans still keep a lot of towns dry.
What always amazed me about the south were the drive-through liquor windows. Love that. Love the ones with the bottle openers dangling from the service window even more.

We have our share of pakis in Los Angeles too, but they run the gas stations down in Inglewood. The ones with the really slow pumps. They don't speak English very well.

Veal kabobs, all around please. And any other oppressed animal food we can think of.
Frankly, I'd just like a martini. (which reminds me...I had the most delicious cantelope martini several weeks ago. I know it sounds disgusting but it actually taste just like fresh cantelope. oooh...me want one now.....)

Mmmmm, martinis. I'll bring the fixings and tend bar.
Oh, and my favorite oppressed animal food is anything caught fleeing after I've set fire to a patch of rain forest.

It's basically just croquet. The twist is that you must keep your beer on your person at all times when playing, including when whacking the ball with your mallet. Leads to both drunkeness and creative beer holding technique.
