You assume she answered "no" to that one. Also, that I would repeat last year's offer.
Bitch please.

Spontaneous Mutual Insomnia

I usually read when I have insomnia. I usually read to go to sleep during the week too, so reading is my sleep-inducing thing. That's why I'm always looking for good books.
TV can work too, but that usually takes longer than reading. Of course occasionally the books keep me up if I'm really into them, but that is fairly rare.
Oh, and, if nothing else works, sex (if companion in bed) or erotica plus vibrator (if alone) can get me ready for sleep...
|
The OM and I have been suffering from dueling bouts of insomnia recently, so we are taking melatonin. It's helped reset our sleep cycle and we're sleeping much better.
I am a light sleeper, so if he wakes up and turns on his light to read or the tv, we can have a mutherfucking problem. Sometimes he is able to and it is fine, sometimes, he goes to the living room, and sometimes, he just decides 5 am is the perfect time to head to the office to get a jump on the day.
When I am laying awake and he is asleep, I decorate random rooms in my head. I figure out the layout, style, colors, fabrics, furniture. It relaxes me, though not as much as notcase's technique.
If that doesn't do it, a tylenol pm or benadryl takes the edge off.
Edited to add: damn, when did I get so freakin old?

No, but that is why they usually make good sleep aids.

Great Moments in Film Criticism
I just saw this - it is a great movie that works on many levels. There are some pacing issues; I think maybe Coppola couldn't decide which of Murray's funny ad libs to cut. But the obligatory karaoke scene is handled wonderfully, and the shots of Tokyo and Kyoto are magical.

So, in my lifetime here, my moniker has been connected to a style of hotel and a barbeque sauce.
Hmmmm....wonder what that says about me?

They do however make good British TV shows about women in prison. The badly named Bad Girls is quite good.
Sorry folks no lesbian sex in the first season, which is all I've seen so far. There is a lot implied though (both hetero and homo.) More importantly it was quite engaging in terms of the drawing of the characters and the occasionally amusing writing.
You have to get it on format 2 dvd which means it will only show on a dvd player/tv capable of showing these, or, on your computer.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Olympia ("It's the Water!"). Usually it was a quarter less a 12 pack than the next cheapest, the Beast. Of course, I haven't seen any for ages, so it may be regional and/or dead. Too bad. It actually was halfway decent if it was really, really cold.

Yes, Beckinsdale was brunette; her hair was noticeably darker (maybe black) in the "Underworld" preview, and I remembered wrong.

Two great Beckinsdale movies are Cold Comfort Farm and The Last Days of Disco. She's got black hair in both. In Disco she manages to come off as somehow endearing despite being a completely self-centered, totally evil bitch. Plus it's got Chloe Sevigny. Mmmmmmm. Chloe Sevigny.

I think most of the old Northwest beers (Olympia, Rainier) were bought up by the large brewers, and the brands soon thereafter discontinued. Even Henry Weinhard's (bought several years ago by Miller) is no longer brewed in downtown Portland, and the brewery is being redeveloped. I used to live a few blocks from there, and loved the hot cereal smell as I was walking to work (it wasn't just from Henry's--another brewery (Bridgeport?) is still located a few blocks north).

Mark of the Beast
So when I googled to figure out how to spell Chloe Sevigny's last name, the sponsored link that popped up was:
Sponsored Links
666 Is Here Now
Do you have the Mark of the Beast?
The truth might surprise you.
www.Travesser.com
I read the page; I'm still not sure if I have the Mark of the Beast. It could be that scar on the inside of my knee, but I'm pretty sure that's just the result of an imprudent slide into second in a junior high softball game.
Edited to add that I explored further, and that is one crazy site. The author believes he is the second coming of Christ. He and his followers live in the wilderness and prepare for the end days. Fun!

well, some of you do at least...
bennifer update...
don't worry, Shape Shifter, I'm sure it is just the malicious ranting of those jealous harpies who can't stand to see two people so in love...
"NEW YORK (Reuters) -- Hollywood celebrity couple Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have split up, at least temporarily, after postponing their wedding over a media frenzy, People magazine reported on Sunday.
The magazine's Web site quoted unidentified sources as saying Affleck decided he wanted out of the relationship, but it was not certain if the break-up will be permanent.
Representatives for the pair could not be reached for comment. People magazine reported that the representatives said they had no knowledge of the break-up."

That's sad because I really, really, really thought that they would last. . . really.

Rent HBO's "If These Walls Could Talk 2." She is just smokin, smokin, smokin, smokin hot in it. Of course, that may only be working for me b/c she plays a lesbian. . . I don't actually find her nearly as attractive when she plays it straight. YMMV.

You are obviously correct about the harpies, ncs. Would Ben be able to fly to Vegas to watch the De La Hoya/Mosely bout so soon after such a debilitating painful event? Plainly, no. And yet that's what is being reported.
"Affleck was believed to still be in Los Angeles, though some reports had him heading to Las Vegas for tonight's Shane Mosely-Oscar De La Hoya fight."
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...e_030914191433
Would been ever hire a pr flack with a name like Ken Sunshine? No, you say?
"A representative for Affleck, Ken Sunshine, declined to comment on the breakup rumor."
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...leck_wedding_5
This same article destroyed any remaining credibility by reporting the following:
They met while filming this summer's infamous bomb, "Gigli."
Any movie that attracted paid admissions from almost 1% of the US population, despite being shown on only 40,000 is no bomb in my book.
