food network has "best sandwiches" on. something called Primanti in Pittsburgh is two slices of Italian bread, a meat, cole slaw and fries.
The manager goes "some people ask for 'no fries' and i tell them no. you have to have it with fries." that's some dedicated dedication.

Potatoes served in the French manner were first prepared in the U.S. at a White House state dinner thrown by 3, who spoke Italian, modeled nearly every building after Palladio, and named his home "Monticello." I do not know if he appeared in any movies with Kevin Bacon, but the Italian word for bacon is "pancetta." Mmmm, Pancetta.

Proving that Americans accept and even celebrate obduracy and high-handedness in their caterers while deploring it in their government.
I looked for a Cocteau quote that said this better but couldn't find it.

asking me to comment on the sort person that'd go to Geno's is like asking me why someone would marry a woman that hadn't shaved her legs in 15 years. I know they do that, but I ain't sure about any motivation or detail.

Your legs ain't broke. I'm sure any number of, shall we say, libertarian nations would welcome a man of your talents. They might even make him Vizier.

I read the same Wiki piece and the culinary origins of FF do not appear to have roots in Italy. buon tentativo. ciao ciao. ![Smilie](http://www.lawtalkers.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Sounded like a good idea before I had one. But the combination of fries and white bread came out to pretty darn bland.
