Hmmmm . . .
Oh oh oh, I get it, you are trying to reignite a coastal battle to increase post counts.
Nope, once I factor in your disdain for the red states, I'm still coming out with the scale weighing on the coastal side.

You need to stay out of the Regis section.

All-you-can-drink beer? Did Israel assassinate the chairman of your state's ABC or something? I live in a very alcohol-tolerant area (hi, Wonk!) but there is no way this would fly.

As long as it doesn't feature animated talking fungus, keeping his socks on should do the trick.
This brings me to something I'm kind of curious about. It seems that in porn, men seem to keep their socks on a lot. Why is this? Is it some kind of sympathy foot-covering b/c women keep on their platforms? If so, why do men in gay porn also keep their socks on? Industry standard?
Pls. correct me if I am wrong; my sample size is likely too small to make any global assumptions.

[Derisive snort] As if we could really call it civilization without cocaine.

how so? I've been to brunches in pretty restictive states that, for example, allow free and unlimited mimosas. how would California have prevented Coltrane's hangover?

Watch it. She's just looking for an opportunity to gloat about the bracket pool.

It's not legal in Chicago either. No happy hours. No all-you-can-drink promos. And our home-ruled Chicago licensing commission is Stalinesque. This city is anti-business, especially when it comes to restaurants/bars. This particular bar does this all of the time, though. I suppose it's difficult to monitor a city with over 3000 bars.

Don't look now, but Roger Ebert is calling you shallow. {Warning: scroll past the blow-by-blow of Billy Crystal's consolation-taunt of Bill Murray at the Oscars. You will learn nothing from it.}
{Add'l spree: Ebert's Movie Answer Man column is an all-spoilers zone, so read at your own risk. Skip the last question if you don't want to spoil Mystic River.}

Often the owners of the establishment don't know that they can't do it. Plus, if it's not a home-rule city with local enforcement, the liklihood of the ABC finding out is low. Even if the ABC is aware of it, they probably wouldn't care enough to do anything if it's a bunch of people sipping mimosas. However, if it's a bunch of college kids getting plastered on AYCD beer, that's a different story.
