However iatrogenic C-sections may be, most American doctors perform them out of (excessive?) fear of risk, not because the mother desperately wanted one. They instead convince the mother, correctly or not, that unusual delivery risks weigh in favor of C-section. Only an incredibly neurotic mother would "feel bad" for "choosing" a C-section over a vaginal delivery. She can always convince herself that the baby would have died or been injured during a vaginal delivery. Doubt about the origin of allergies is a small price to pay for this.
One final pro-nursing point, because I can't let anything go: The Little Mean One was a relatively late breastfeeder, and em's got amazing food curiosity because, unlike mass-produced formula, human breast milk has flavor undertones of what the mother has consumed. The other day em asked for some chana masala from mom's plate. Suck on that, Enfamil!

You wouldn't want to upset other people now would you?

Lord no. As we all know, I live my life in such as way as to avoid upsetting everyone.

Speaking of amusal, I am woefully not caught up on the comings and goings here, npi. Have I missed anything or just the usual sex, lies and breasticle pics?

Ah, thanks for the heads up that it was semi-annual breast feeding post day. My .02 which I have probably posted on the previous 46 breastfeeding threads is that I'm pro-breastfeeding and pro-relatively late breastfeeding.
One of my daughters had a genetic thing where if she had not been breastfed as an infant she would have in all likelihood died in the first couple of weeks of infancy. But we did not know that until a year or so later when she was initially diagnosed. She ended up on the juice until 22 mos. for reasons related to the genetic thing, although the last 6 months or so was just twice a day, morning and bedtime.[

Iatrogenetic. Nice word. I had to look it up and I'm stillnot sure what it means.
How does one learn a word like that? In what context is one introduced to that word (besides, say, the FB for example?)

American Iatrogentic Association
It is a word popular with pedants everywhere, especially pedants who have been the subject of medical experiments.

I'm sad that John "Pops" Hope isn't going to be around for this hurricane. He was one of the greats when it came to the hurricane game.
From the June 2002 obit:
"John Raymond Hope, one of the country's leading hurricane forecasters, died today of complications related to heart surgery. He was 83 years old.
For nearly 20 years, The Weather Channel viewers turned to Hope for information and guidance when tropical weather threatened their homes. He joined The Weather Channel in 1982 as the Tropical Coordinator and an On-Camera Meteorologist, becoming a key source of information for U.S. coastal residents during hurricane seasons.
He was cited as the "voice of reason" when broadcasting on The Weather Channel, and weather experts often acknowledged Hope as "the man America watches" when hurricanes approached the United States."
We miss ya Pops. Hope there's lots of big weather events up in heaven.

STOP IT! STOP IT! STOP IT! When are you going to stop blaming me for "the genetic thing?!?"
How was I to know that the ecstacy would have that affect? The ped told me to stop drinking and to cut down on the blow and cigs, but he said nothing about the x. Seriously. For the last time stop with the blame and the snide comments to strangers about how it's ALL MY FAULT.

Yes, well, it does sound as if we've each had some experience with him. Tell me, was he as .... um, inadequate with you as with me? And, I mean, metrosexuality is one thing, but that dress "he" wears is, well, just not really very appealing. And the lipstick! That shade of purple just demonstrated trashy taste all around.
