They're pretty tight on these things, since once the baby is overseas, it's pretty tough to get them back (if she were trying to do that . . . )

A friend of mine was kidnapped by his father and spent most of his youth in Cuba. I suspect his mother wished for tighter rules on such things in the 70s.

To be clear, she is definitely not trying to kidnap the child.

I don't think anyone suspected that was the case. The kidnapping issue is, however, the reason for the rules, and what's more, I think it is also the reason I am not confident she can get the child out with her EU passport, unless she also has one for the child.

For anyone wanting to jump on the bandwagon -- it's a little late, but there's always more room, and a pink or kelly green Sox hat to spare -- here's a 17-point guide to being an insufferable asshole shithead fuckface fan of Boston-area sports teams.
- Follow these rules and I promise you that everyone from the nation’s remaining 44 states will want to rape you with a hammer. But hey, you’re a Boston sports fan now. You’ll be completely ignorant to your own jackassery. That’s the beauty of it. You are now just as fucking annoying as a Notre Dame football fan, or a Duke basketball fan. That's right, Pats fan. That's the level you're at right now. Enjoy your world titles, you fucking cockhog.

DC Folks
Some co-workers are going to be in DC this week and are looking for a bar recommendation to watch the game tonight. Any suggestions?
They'd like something within walking distance of the Hay Adams.

Since she talks with the father/husband, has she actually tried asking him? The biggest burden of the consent form is getting a notary's signature. Maybe he'll say yes.

My husband insisted Dane cook was Ben Affleck. Insisted. Could not be convinced otherwise.
I guess they all rock that same haircut.

You can get an affidavit from the father to get around the requirement that he be there in person, but I tend to agree. Absent a court finding that she's the sole parent, he's going to have to give his consent.

Apparently the site is Canadian, so perhaps that's the problem.

As far as I know, no, she hasn't asked him yet. Apparently he's just being such a shithead that she doesn't want to give him any ammunition for fucking her life up. But it looks as though she may have to.

I would not wear 5-inch stilletos, but I would wear my new Tsubos with a 2 inchish heal, or clogs with a heel. I wear running shoes to work out in but aside from that I wear heels ALL. THE. TIME. Right now I am wearing brown suede knee-high boots with a four inch heel. I am a big fan of the platform front. And yes, I know how to walk in heels. I have flat feet and heels are more comfortable than flat shoes.

Do you like high end shoes? I like the look of the Christian Loubotins, Jimmy Choos, the peep toes...etc.
My boss has fabulous shoes. Chanel, Gucci, Hermes......[she also has fabulous clothes and bags as well, but I digress]
