Hey look! Smartasses are everywhere
Russell must have taken the quiz yesterday...
Sept. 17 — Looks like Mel Gibson’s new film won’t be getting a rave review from Russell Crowe. Crowe, appearing on a Chicago radio station, was asked what he thought about “The Passion,” the controversial film being made by his fellow Aussie about the last day of Jesus Christ. The Oscar-winning “Gladiator” star promptly started to make fun of the film, and was especially amused that “Passion” is reportedly being made in archaic languages without subtitles. “WELL IF WHAT I’ve heard about it is fair dinkum (Aussie lingo for “true”) that he spent $25 million making a movie that’s shot in Aramaic and Latin and he’s intending to release it without subtitles, I think he’s got to get off the glue,” Crowe said. “What’s the point of making a movie where people can’t understand what’s going on? I don’t understand that. If you want it for reality or whatever, I think, ‘Wow, what an amazing idea,’ but also what a waste of time if nobody can get what the point is.”
It was pointed out that Gibson has said he doesn’t need subtitles because everyone knows the story. “Well, if we know the story, if we know it that well, why did (he) bother making it again?” Crowe said and reiterated his jokey advice: “Mr. Gibson, get off the glue!” Picture of Mel Gibson for those who care

A Sad Day for Str8 and Manfred - Things That Need to be Legal

Not likely.
High heels and short skirts are legal and common. And I'm far from desensitized to those.
But since I joined this discussion in the middle, can someone explain when lapdancing became illegal?

Hey look! Smartasses are everywhere
You left out the best part of that gossip column --
Paris Hilton, the table-top dancing young socialite who reportedly likes to leave her skivvies at home, has surprising advice: playing hard-to-get. “I tell Nicky (her kid sister), with guys, they’re only gonna want what they can’t have,” Hilton tells Seventeen magazine in its October issue. “Nobody wants the beaten-up Prada purse on Canal Street. Everyone wants the brand-new colorful Louis Vuitton one that no one can get. Guys don’t want the girl who’s been around the block.”
I wonder if she is referring to the white/rainbow bag that was posted here?

Let me assure you that if my neighborhood was filled with lazy, obese, naked seals, I would not find them so . . . strangely compelling.

Blass invokes classic look; Anne Klein likes cleavage
Or, from the picture, no cleavage.
Elsewhere on the runways, if Anne Klein designer Michael Smaldone has his way, “Pardon me, your blouse is unbuttoned” will no longer be a fashion faux pas.
Kate Spade has built her business on trendy handbags in simple shapes with offbeat fabrics and colors, such as white terry cloth and wool plaid. For spring she showed an exuberant collection in raspberry pink, coral and citrus yellow — “really sherbet colors,” she said. “There’s a lot of energy to the collection, very optimistic. It’s not too fussy or too serious.” Mercedes Benz Fashion show
Can this be worn to court?

That's actually one of the clearer statements I've heard about the differences between racism in the north and the south. In my experience, in the south, people may just let their racist flag fly (over the capital, even), but, at the same time, the south is much more geographically and socially integrated than the north, and the different races, racist or not, actually interact with each other much more regularly and much more familiarly than they do in the north. Maybe it has to do with southern economics more than history, I don't know, but that "winking" up here extends to a hell of a lot more than club memberships and promotions. It extends to even acknowledging the problem. Down south, at least it is dealt with instead of denied.

If your case is crap, and distracting the judge and jury with cleavage and preppy bondage gear is your only hope, why not?

Admit it, PJ, you look at all those seals and think "purses" or "hats". So what if Ty looks at seals and sees a way to lower his purity score? Do you think those seals would rather be in his clutches or yours?

Yeah I was going to edit, but ran out of time.
And yes, it's got to be the godforsaken hideous rainbow bag.

No, no, no. I think mink is fine because minks are vicious little rodent bastards. You miss my entirely simpy and hypocritical "bunny rabbit" exception--I cannot wear anything that is too cute when it's alive.
