Does the word "nerd" remind anyone of the time that Joanie had a crush on Potside and nicknamed him "Dren"?

You and I have a remarkable quirk for remembering the exact same quotes from 70's sitcoms.
I would have bet good money that I was the only person who remembered that particular bit of Happy Days trivia.

What about if I ascertain that their disability is of the sterile nature? What about if I know I am sterile or vasectomied? What about the important distinction between crippled and retarded? The permutations make both heads reel.

Why would one have to pick? Is there a deranged, ranting Les on the doorstep threatening to kill the women and rape the men if I choose both? Has rationing been introduced to prevent people from indulging in both apple and pumpkin during this time of war? If I eat both, will I be forced to sit in a room reading ppnyc posts for eternity?
What sadistic fiend has prohibited the customary two pies? This is worse than Guantanamo.

I'm not making two kinds of pie for a group that probably won't even be able to finish one, and I don't believe in buying pies. I could make a couple tartlettes of each, but that is too much effort.
My choice is pumpkin; I'm just curious what others think. And the streusel vs. crust thing.
ETA don't fuck with the hypo, ass.

At Thanksgiving, pumpkin pie is the correct choice. At all other times if only one is allowed, it would be apple. Of course, you could always make both and send pie home with your guests. I'm just saying.
Streusel topping for the apple pie. Cinnamonny, nutty, crumbly goodness.

I've always been a crust fan, but it has to be good crust. There's a whole chapter in The Man Who Ate Everything, by Jeffrey Steingarten, the food critic for Vogue (which might very well be the best job ever AND he's a former lawyer), dedicated to making pie crust. I'm going to reread it tonight before I attempt my crust for the (test) pumpkin pie tomorrow.

And remind them that whatever this silly dispute is will just hurt the business, no matter who is right.

I've done it with half the duo. The other one - the one with most of the leverage who fails to acknowledge why his business has more than doubled in the x months the other half has been with the company - is trickier and pricklier. I know it isn't my problem to fix, but it's like they'd rather bitch than resolve some of the issues that are getting in the way. Stupid pride.

Crust is relentlessly difficult to get right.
Try to touch it as little as possible.
That's all I got.

OK, my crust secret, because I care.
If you crush walnuts very, VERY finely, so they are the consistency of flour, and replace about 1/5 of the flour in your recipe with the crushed walnuts, and lessen the amount of butter or other oil you are putting in slightly, you will get a crust that is a little crisper, a little more flavorful, and a little flakier than your average crust.

Fuck crust. I take the same position in re pie crust as I do regarding pizza crust. It's a delivery vehicle, not a stand alone delicacy.
