Maybe mom and dad Simpson are finally getting a chance to see what over-coddling can lead to.

I don't get this. I'm a monkey not a mouse (the name comes from a former pet name my ex-GF had for me, which I found ironic, not so much in the way she used it, but more ironically, due to my humorous side)

That would be fine, although I doubt I will merit much attention from Paigow at this point. It looks like she sticks to the more prominent posters of her level.

what prominent poster of my level have I had an exchange with of late? the only real one of my level, who is as promient, is thurgred, and he is turning into me with his keep it funny and interesting buisiness. quite frankly, he is bordering on superfluous. If I dont see a witty translation fast, he might be joingting cheval, pj and old n razed in Ignore List land. hopefully PJ [EDITED bc CLEARLY I phoned this one in]

She tried to scheme against Tiajuana (nice name) and played two sides. Got busted and booted. Stupid.
I might actually watch this one.

Tiajuana? what the fuck? Is this a misspelled tribute as to where she was conceived? We have a "Tejuana" who manages my local safeway. she is great. cashed my check before I wrote the tenth one.
No tivo yet. I am waiting for this new DVR E.O keeps raving about. Probalby wont hit DC for two years, but whatever. I just cant deal with going to CIrcuit Depo in Generic Chain Store Infested Suburb, VA, and getting it and figuring out how to hook it up and program it and all that shit. i am hoping to move in with someone who has one so I can skip the whole thing. it would be easier.

That is what I thought until I visited the clinic this morning.
Please forgive me if I ramble, as I am posting while emergin from the fog of what must have been a Roofie-GHB-Lone Star Beer-Powdered Rhino Horn-Whiskey-Bathtub Ecstasy cocktail. The last thing I remember seeing Saturday night was the steps leading down to E/O's basement. I first awoke sometime Sunday afternoon in Zilker Park, wet with rain and lube, naked except for a few remaining strands of 3/4" speaker wire bound to my wrists and ankles. Somewhere, a llama wept.
I can share the few personal highlights of my ACL experience that I do remember. This festival is a tradition in the making. I highly recommend finding an oddman for recommendations. They did not disappoint.
Rebirth of Brass Band - these guys are not so much a band as they are a party. My calves are still sore from dancing so much. Best tuba solo I have heard in many years.
Los Lobos - undisputed kings of southwest rock. LL always put on an entertaining show. Texas Fbers were treated to a bonus, as RT translated the dirty parts, both orally and via interpretive dance. She also played a mean accodian solo.
Robert Randolph - totally blew me away. To say that he takes the steel guitar where it has never been shortchanges him. Randolph also has an incredibly powerful voice and does not let his instrument constrain his mobility - he is an amazing performer and showman, not just a transcendent musician.
Part of what makes ACL such a great experience is just wandering from stage to stage, catching random acts. By doing so, you are exposed to an astonishing variety of genres, all easy to dig because of that special Austin vibe. Hell, I even enjoyed the bluegrass band that was playing at the shuttle stop. Kudos to whomever handled booking.
Special thanks to the Texas crew. Bail money is always appreciated. Your checks are in the mail.

The picture he gave me for my avatar did not make sense. I don't get his sense of humor at all.

Don't worry. We filmed the whole thing. You'll be getting further instructions once a sufficient number of copies have been produced and hidden in safety deposit boxes around the country.

just wondering
Is The Simpsons still on network TV? If so, would someone let me know when the inevitable Queer Eye cameo happens? I wouldn't mind seeing what Matt Groening -- or, more appropriately, his Korean lackey -- does with that.
Favorite Simpsons cameo of all time? Good question. That would have to be Garrison Keillor, even if that wasn't him. I bet it wasn't him. Someone here will surely know.

Another name I don't get that I have seen more than once is Aquanet. I guess this means I can name my never-to-be-born kid Suave then.
