Size is "whatever would look pretty on her and not crush your bank account." However, when budget becomes an issue with diamonds, go for quality over size, every time. Unless she's a completely cheesy tool of QVC, she'll agree.
Huh. I pretty much picked a size (not big -- 3/4 c total I think) and then went for the ones I felt I could afford, which were presumably not as nice as the ones that cost significantly more for the same size and I didn't ask to see e.g. 1/2 c total at the same price point as the 3/4 c ones. Stud earrings just are not all that viewable, but I guess as they get bigger it's easier to see things like flaws or whatever.

I did get sucked into watching the end of Jewel Week on QVC earlier this month when I was stuck in a hotel room, and kinda liked it. But I'm not sure I can qualify as a completely cheesy tool of QVC if I've never bought anything from them.

Most of those are too traditional for my tastes, although this one might be okay -

Speaking of colored diamonds, they seem to be the guilt purchase of the year--Beckham just bought Posh Spice a huge pink diamond ring plus the huge matching earrings.

If he's throwing in earrings along with the ring, he must be screwing around even more than everyone already thought.

Of all the ones that have been posted from that site, that one looks the most like it would be part of a sectional sofa.

Nope, you're safe. But my unseemly Joan Rivers fashion-abuse addiction could lure me in to her QVC show if I weren't careful.

Did he buy J Ho's old ring? Posh is classy enough to wear it.

Maybe so. Though those typically have the one arm thing going on. I think that I'm looking for something curvy and sexy, but not for anything remotely like the traditional ones that Burger has been posting (no offense and etc.). I'm not looking for something that my grandma would like (though I am using some money from her to buy it, so I guess that makes me ungrateful).

What does the FB think?
Take the arm off it and it looks just like the "pimp chair" from my undergrad days. Brown and curvy with room for two. Very comfy, it was the first spot occupied during movie nights.

The other place to check out is Design Within Reach (www.dwr.com). I don't think there's one in Dallas, but if you go to any upscale modern furniture store (I'd go to Metro Modern here in Houston, and Spazio on 6th Street in Austin) that doesn't sell its own line, you can see a lot of the stuff in the DRW catalogue and check it out. DWR sometimes is cheaper, though transportation costs may offset.

My source on modern furniture tells me that the places to go in Dallas are Century Modern (2928 Main Street) and Collage (1300 N. Industrial Blvd). He also says that you should pick up a few back issues of Architectural Digest, Metropolitan Home and Dwell.

Speaking of dildoes, I listened to argument today in a med mal case where the female plaintiff suffered severe genital scarring as the result of post-partum surgery. The surgeon recommended that she use a steroidal cream to soften the scarring. He also suggested that she insert foreign objects into her vagina at least once per day in order to soften and loosen up the tissue. The appellate panel hearing this case was blushing collectively.

Make it leather and give it an arm and I like it.
