Being a grown up--poll
Quote:
Replaced_Texan
Friend just posted his shock at finding out his wife is pregnant. He talks about how this is the first major life-altering event of his life, and he's really, really feeling the brunt of being a grown up.
Sort of reminded me of a conversation I had with another friend of mine as we were walking through the appliances section at Best Buy and ooohing and aaaahing over the Dyson vacuum cleaners and that mega-dryer.
The first time I really felt like an adult wasn't when I graduated from college or bought my first car or got my first apartment or got my first job or even when I bought my house. The first time I really felt like an adult was when I started researching hot water heaters.
There is no reason in the world to know the difference between one hot water heater and the other or to really get excited about the energy saving qualities of a tankless hot water heater unless you're an adult. No one else cares.
So, when's the first time you really felt like an adult?
|
When I was invited to a friends house for "dinner" - and I brought a cake from the bakery for dessert.

There was about 20 year gap between the first and second occassions.

How much of the 20 did you spend in prison? This was the kiddie porn thing?

Since I knew Slave would be abusing his power, I have saved the post and here it is again: I will also personally send it to anyone who would like it.
Of course i know someone else created the sock. Please don't assume I am as dumb as you. It is insulring. YOu have a coule of henchpeople who do it for you so RT cannot idnetify the ISP or whatever it is called, and you can technically claim that you did not violate your own TOC. We learned that from several prior socks that shall go nameless. They all had untraceable ISPs.
So how do we know its you in cahoots with your henchers? The outable informatino that you leak with these socks. I could document probably ten instances of it. But don't think you are getting away with it. There are like two people who know about some of the things you posted. It ain't rocket science.
SO please don't pretend that you have nothing to do with this when you have everything to do with it. People aren't going to buy it anymore. Keep your business separate from your personal, flame under your primary and don't out people Some of us have jobs.

Quarters are for bouncing off of asses; dead cats are for market bounces.

I don't want to talk about the specifics, I have put the past behind me (npi) and it's too painful to revisit. Truth is, without your wife paying me all those conjugal visits I never would have made it.

I deleted it to save you the embarrassment of (1) making false accusations - yet again, and (2) spelling every tenth word wrong.

Yes, her webcam site gets many people through the day. We were surprised they let you have an internet connection- given your crime. What did you tell your mom the monthly subscription fees were for? We made sure the bill was non-specific.

I used to specialize in the cross-functional team. My teams always hit their KPIs (key performance indicators), so we had good metrics.
Ah, the good old days....

Mostly I was surprised the prison let us broadcast me with your wife during our conjugal visits. I guess cutting them in on 20% of the take made it worth their while. Money really does talk.

May I delete the text this time? Pretty please? (I don't have to ask if I can, because I know I can.)

I think I found a work-around. Ping me and I'll send you the risk-value analysis.

This may be a giant whiff, but I am a total prole former Hell's-Kitchenite Broadway LOVER, and I am really looking forward to this. They've retained most of the original Broadway cast, except for putting in Rosario Dawson (who looks gorgeous in the TV commercials, btw).
And people who know tell me that "Seasons of Love" is one of the best-crafted songs ever.

I don't need to be the one to point out that something is offensive or racist. It's not my duty. In fact, other people poked plenty of fun at her for being ignorant. I enjoyed that much more than the post I could have written.
You're just pissed at me because I got your silly ass with the 'kick dogs' thing and all you could come up with was 'insufferable' and 'bull-headed.' If you want to retire, tell the truth about why. You ran out of material.

Now, now. No need to turn into an uppity Black Man. We don't want another high-tech lynchiung.
