And I wouldn't want people like you with your age-ist views to get in my way. She's a trailblazer -- that's what she is.
So the sister-in-law called last night. She wanted to know if we were close to the fires. Yes, of course. Now that the wind has shifted, we are only 795 miles away from them now. Apparently San Diego and San Francisco sound the same to her.

Plus, at the age of 36, she has decided that maybe she wants to be a dermatologist. Even though she has not done that pesky college thing.

Brigette Moynihan's plans kind of didn't work out so well on that . . .

Really? You think she's ever going to work again?

That fact may have little to do with Tom Brady, however, or lil' Peyton Moynihan.

Over the last day or two, I've stopped reading the board momentarily to admire the smoke pouring from the Malibu canyons which give the sky that nice orange/reddish tinge. Today, though, it seems to be clearing a bit.
I've heard that the sunsets for the last couple of days have been pretty damned spectacular.

TMQ may be worthless, but his readers' letters are not:

Did I ever tell y'all I was recruited by the Timberwolves Cheerleaders? I was. It was due to a scholarship I won from my competition cheerleading association in maybe 1991. I declined their invitation and instead focused on my goal of pursuing a successful career of my choosing while finding love and raising a family that fulfills me in every way!!!!

Perhaps I should have taken them up on their offer?
Perhaps you still can.

I tried to take a couple of pictures of the bright red sun (behind smoke clouds) at 5:00 p.m. yesterday, but my instamatic doesn't have a polarizing attachment so I didn't get the bright colors. It really depends on where you are, but as long as you aren't too close to the fires (I've heard the Valley is pretty socked in at this point), the skies are looking pretty cool. Almost worth the total inability to go outside and breathe the air. Well, not really.

I had my windows open last night. I think this explains my sore throat. Possibly maybe.

She was in AOPi, and I actually know her.

It's New England.

Scan the crowd at Fenway for kicks. Last time I did, I found roughly zero minority faces.

I may have to root for McCain now...or something

Rudy? WTF?:

I will be rooting for the Red Sox because I’m an American League fan, and my tradition has been to root for the American League team, particularly if it’s a team that beats the Yankees. And in this case, you won the division and we lost. Somehow it makes me feel better if the team that was ahead of the Yankees wins the World Series, because then I feel like, well, we’re not that bad.
