I buy that fancy crap with garlic and lemon infused into it. That shit ain't bad. The lemon is really nice. But you're right on the Colvaita. Thats what I use for general cooking. Its great for making omelettes.

No more of that "riggings" talk from you. I don't want to imagine whhat kind of Bob Vila pontifications he'd get into about installing a pleasure swing.

I have a deep and very intense hatred for people who think what they do should be applauded by others or viewed as worthy of deep respect, unless its charity work. We're all just gaming a silly self-perpetuating system for cash, and it'd be a lot easier and a lot more fun if there weren't so many people in this system who actually thought - believed - what they were doing was "important."

Just take the money and play the game.

Please. If he were actually a Condescending, he wouldn't be bragging about cooking, because he would know that cooking is done by the help.

I mean, really. Next he'll boast about how difficult it is for the inexperienced to make a bed properly.

I'm not saying I'm a fucking rocket scientist here, but there's no way that someone can do any corporate transaction after being on the fringes once. I might not always like what I do, but managing all the bullshit and dealing with new issues or potential issues IS challenging, as is trying to scrape together some more fucking clients so that I can decide that I can maybe do the kind of shit that I do at a higher level. Would I do it if I weren't getting paid what I am? No. But I also wouldn't do it if I really hated it or really got no intellectual stimulation out of it

You've talked before about how much you hate what you do. Have you really picked up no additional skills and abilities after doing what you do for however long you're done it? If so, maybe that's why you hate being a lawyer so much. I would hate being a document monkey; that's why I knew that I would never make it a week as a litigator at a big firm; I've done something where the subject matter interests me enough to go with the allure of more money than I could easily otherwise make, and it makes it worthwhile.

Could somebody replace me? Sure, but they wouldn't have built the relationships and right away have the knowledge about the stuff I do that I have. If you have so little pride in doing a good job, maybe that's why you feel like you have to bullshit clients to justify what you do for them. Fuck those people who build their lives around what they do, but if you can't have at least some interest in the substance of what you do, you're headed towards the stereotypical self-loathing 50 year old lawyer if you keep doing it a lot for a long time.

Make yourself happy; I enjoy posting here because, even with all you fuckers ripping on me and calling me all sorts of names, I like the interaction and it gives me a chance to see different personalities in play. I've got a thick skin and I think it's cute to see somebody pile on to me after a bunch of crap I've spouted off, surely in less verbose, less informed and less humble a manner than I should have.

But, honestly, and you can take this as me being a know-nothing kid or someone who doesnt' know you or jsut some annoying tool on the internet or whatever, if you don't get some enjoyment out of doing what you do, do something else. Even if the money is great and the sex with the wife is hot and stuff outside of work keeps you going, everybody deserves to find a little happiness and self-respect in what they do, even if it's being a lawyer. There are far too many people who lie to themselves and think that's not true.

A big kiss to all you guys, by the way. I kind of like that I unite this board by making everybody annoyed!

Dissent. About 20% of my time at work is spent here, and my Dogfight post IS so worthy of deep respect. Or do you put this down as pro bono?

Actually, maybe that's my problem. I'm no food expert, certainly, and I tried (searing it!) it dry once, and it didn't turn out well. Feel free to pile on on that one, too!

I have a really good cooking timer I could lend you to make it easier.

But I need it back.

Shoot. It's always the shoot from the hip, swinging free and easy in their Hickey cats who get the chick in the end.

(Uh, so to speak.)
