Go for dinner and the show, skip the hotel.

His blood alcohol level was .015 which would be consistent with the statement of the bartender who said he had two beers and some dinner (bar food) during the approx. hour he was at the Tavern. Legally drunk here is .08. Excessive speed isn't necessarily enough to get vehicular homicide because the law is vague on when speeding is deemed to be reckless.

She refuses to do the overnight babysitter thing. I don't get it, but she's always been hinky about leaving the wonklets.

Good one! I smell board motto!
Not yet, but keep trying.
Are you volunteering?
Nice attempt at deflection, but you know this is about you and your mean streak.

No, not the Bills. He couldn't mean the Bills. It's the wings.
Edited to add....dammit. A second too late.

Tell her to quit being such a control freak. And tell her that the kids won't die if you're away from them for 12 hours.
And if they do, that you'll buy her new ones.

Interesting that the national press never thought that it was enough of a story to tell us that he wasn't legally drunk. Bet it would have been all over cnn if the test had come back at .081.
That is good news for him. I wonder if he'll ever mentally have it back to play at the level he was though.** Sad. I'm sure he's punishing himself enough without a need for prison time.
** I realize this sentence is grammatically flawed, but I have no will to fix it, so deal with it, timmies.

No spoiler bc I think this is from last week's episod.e Again I missed it last night bc of the ballgame. But I thought Rupert was the deadhead- you know, the troubled teen counselor guy? Who is Jon? Is there a pic of him I can see?
and what happened last night?
From Salon
Shocking indeed that the Drakes didn't opt to vote out brutally irritating hippie Jon, but at least we've all been granted another week to hate him with impunity. The smug "I'm such a trickster!" grins, the creepy little gestures, the drunken stand-up routine ... He's like that one guy at a Dead show who no one really wants to pass the bowl to.
He looks like patchouli smells. You can almost see him at a party with his guitar, putting one foot up on the coffee table and affecting a scratchy voice for a soulful, conversation-halting rendition of "Tangled Up in Blue," or pulling a mushy grilled-cheese sandwich out of his back pocket and eating it while doing that awful, boneless Deadhead dance to "Fire on the Mountain." Even den mother Probst had trouble hiding his scorn for Jon during tribal council, glaring at him and calling him out for being drunk.

dangerous to push this one... even if you convince her, that'll be the time the kid falls and cuts head and needs stitches and you'll be in the doghouse. better to try for the babysitter at hotel advice, or the dodge the hotel part of the evening advice. you have young kids, there is nothing wrong with dodging that part.*
plus, by that point in the evening do you really want more time with work collegues?
*but you're in a corp, right? YIHCMPTAR

Many hotels offer babysitting service.
