I was actually on that mailing list and may still have the email. I think that was your first attempt to contact me. I knew I was FB cool then (though I remember being surprised that any of the internet people would meet IRL, must less *date*). How young we were. And how classy she was to do the IM dump.

No, you have to pay premium rates for regular service. The blood flow to your brain was cut off in one of the circulatory system incidents? Sad.

Qiestion about asking a question

I would like to know something about a couple of the west ocast offices of a big ol' national law firm. Where would I ask this to get the most replies? Certainly not here, as it would be as off topic as lactating tatas.

There were twins. He didn't pick them. There was a virgin (isn't there always?). He didn't pick her. There was a hot firefighter (no, not Ryan). He didn't pick her. He picked the 23 year old, Kelly Jo, who already asked him to kiss her. He picked the annoying women who kept speaking Spanish even though Bob doesn't speak Spanish (one of the women I was watching with called her the Taco Bell Chiauau (sp?) girl). He picked the woman who was so drunk that she tripped down the stairs after meeting him. He picked the annoying woman in the awful dress that I wouldn't have even worn to my stupid prom. He picked the girl who, upon meeting his mother, begged his mother to convince him to choose her because she isn't "aggressive" and refuses to throw herself at a man (but throwing yourself at his mother is ok?). And the person you are probably wondering about did get a rose.

Basically, it looks like there will be some fun cattiness and at least one trip to the hospital involved this season. And there's a great preview of a woman verbally assaulting Bob for not realizing what he was getting into.

Hi Bilmore!
Is the person I am wondreing aboutthe person who fell down drunk. I would be surprised if she wasnt. I know there is some footage this person hopes does not air.

Kelly Jo is a bullshit name, and the word is chihuahua. thanks for the update. hopefully they will rerun the show.

But then, apparently, they kept all the houseguests completely bombed the whole time, but not fed or rested. I also know there is some footage this person hopes does not air.

Chihauhau is a stupid name.

And no, she's not the one who tripped. But all the girls were obviously wasted. Apparently the party starts at about 7:00 at night and the rose ceremony isn't until almost 5 am. That's a long to be drinking without any dinner and standing around in a prom dress and four inch heels. It makes me feel a little less judgmental about them. Oh hell, who am I kidding, I'm still hugely judgmental. Especially of the one wearing a crochet dress.

I couldn't bring myself to watch. After the cut from 3 the show is just awful.

Paigow post your question about west coast firms on the SF board. People don't post a lot there but they do read and respond when there are questions.

Elizabeth Peters' Amelia Peabody series. But you have to start at the beginning (A Crocodile on the Sandbank), and move forward from there. I think the series started in the late 70s / early 80s, and has something like 16 or 17 books in it so far. Basic plot is feisty Victorian lady comes into cash when dad dies and decides to see the world, ends up swept off her feet in Egypt by a charismatic archeologist, and they live happily ever after digging up mummies and solving crime. Peters has a PhD in Egyptology from the University of Chicago, so the Egypt stuff is pretty well researched. Right now the series has advanced to between the World Wars. She's been releasing a book a year for the last four or so years. I adore her characters, and some of her writing is laugh out loud funny.

Was this the girl in the red dress with the huge back and enormous face? B/c she frightens me.

And it seems like Bob often has the "god do I have to take a crap" look on his face.

So can any of you lofty bridge players recommend a way for a newbie to get started? Any good books out there or ways to find people to play with? I love card games but not the gambling kind. Lots of Whist, Spades and Hearts in my background.

No, I think you're thinking about Antoinette, or Shae. Jennifer is the one in the ivory crochet dress. It looked like something my grandmother would have knitted for me when I was six. If she knitted. And if I wore ugly clothes when I was six.

edited to add picture

Mystery Lovers' Hibernation Recommendation

Have you read Diane Mott Davidson (caterer protagonist, recipes included; the "lightest" of all the books), Jonathan Kellerman, Faye Kellerman, Sara Paretsky (I look forward to new books by all of them), Patricia Cornwell (but only the Kay Scarpetta ones, the rest stink)?

I'm partial to a group of non-Grisham legal thriller writers: Robert K. Tanenbaum (Manhattan ADA), Perri O'Shaughnessy (Tahoe sole practitioner), William Bernhardt (Okla. sole practitioner), Lisa Scottoline (all female firm), and Steve Martini (CA defense lawyer).

Thanks I'll check them out. I've read a few Patricia Cornwell's and wasn't that impressed. I did enjoy the Kay Scapretta one I read, maybe the ones I didn't like weren't Kay Scarpetta. I've been tempted by the Elizabeth Peters books in the past.

Have you read Laurie King? Her Mary Russell/Sherlock Holmes series is great. I try to stay away from legal thrillers, they remind me too much of work.

My all-time favorite fictional detective is Lord Peter Wimsey so I don't mind the fluff.
