Wow, you met her parents after 6 months of dating? Talk about pressure to perform.

Because you all have such good taste.

For the record, I eat nothing "reduced fat" or "fat free". Skim milk? Tastes like water. Give me half & half. Fat free sour cream? An abomination. Fat Free Ranch/Bleu Chees Dressing? Just awful. Baked chips? No. Fat is good for you, as long as it's not processed/trans.

And milk should always be organic. Every other civilzed country prohibits the use of bovine growth hormone. Not the US. That shit will give you cancer (and probably bigger tits at the age of 11).

However, my women need to be lo-fat.
(1) I don't think no BGH and organic are synonymous. (2) What kind of chips are you eating that you are sure that there are no processed fats in the grease used to fry them? (3) Ditto on salad dressing ingredients.

But I agree that fat-free cheese is pretty icky. Mostly because it doesn't melt.

And, I have a question -- what makes green curry green? Yellow curry is yellow from the turmeric (I think, in the main) and red is probably red from either paprika or pepper, but I'm confused by green.

And now for something completely different.

How long does it take for a sprained ankle to fully recover?

Back in May, I slipped on something on the floor at the grocery store and fell. My right ankle and knee hurt pretty bad so I went home and elevated & iced them. The next day they were still sore but hadn't swelled up.

After a couple days the knee didn't hurt anymore but the ankle was still achy. It got so it only ached when I was particularly active. In retrospect, I should have gone to the doctor but after I picked up a nasty antibiotic-resistant staph bacteria at the ER last summer, I like to avoid doctors.

I spent a long day Sat. on my feet and it started aching again. I really thought it should be healed by now.

Questions: Does it make any sense to go to a doctor now or is it too late to do any good? Is there something I can do to strengthen my ankle so it gets better?
Ankle injuries suck. And they take much longer as you get older to heal. (Although, the one weird thing about them is that they heal faster after the first bad sprain, but that in neither here nor there.)

It's weird that it didn't swell, but that may be the timely application of ice and elevation. You may have stretched a ligament or something, which can take ages to heal. Go to the doctor and have him look at it. You may have just never let it heal properly and you're probably re-injuring it every day. Pain over a long period of time = There is something wrong.

Workout

I have now seen it. Marathon for the build-up to the finale. I resisted watching it because I usually don't go for the follow-someone-in-their-normal-life reality shows (I have standards! and those typically feel more staged to me). I like Workout, however. Might even make the Tivo. Jackie is hot. She has a wackadoo mom and a psycho girlfriend. Will she and the psycho break up on the finale? I can only hope.

If you ever again in this decade get to leave the suburbs, drop by and we can discuss this.

Flinty's not one to pass up an all-you-can eat buffet.

Who paid?

I believe that the operative spice in red and green is chili pepper, in the ripened and unripened states respectively.

RT, the cookbook has a green curry chicken with zucchini recipe which calls for previously made paste. What I've learned is that if you want to be hot, you have to fry the curry paste at a high heat until your eyes start to burn. Maybe the runniness is from adding veggies with high water content?
