If I am forced to watch commercials and cannot fastforward through stupid challenges, I would rather kayak. but its back and just in time. bc TAR is unwatchable with Tivo as is pretty much anything but the Daily Show.

ANyway, this week brings us American Idol, another APprentice and another Survivor. I am starting to feel very been there done that about all three enterprises. And a taping conflict between AI and TAR raises the issue, do I really need to see another season of AI? Do we? SHould we just skip the first couple of episodes where Fox tries to recapture the William Hung glory and tapes a bunch of bad singers and we get to see Randy cover his face and Paula try to look neutral and Simon say something quippy but about as clever as that Weakest Link lady. What do people who have watched this drivel in the past think? can we ever regain the excitement of Clay v Ruben? SHould we just start watching when we are down to the top ten or however many it is?

and what about the apprentice? I personally cannot stand Trump, his product placements, his self flagellation and now his wedding. I certainly don't want to add to his fortune. ANd last season's finale has left a gaping gash on my attention span. They really should space these shows out , so they are annual. Is anyone gonna watch?

Ditto survivor. The problem with this show is the same as the others as the finales have been increasinly tedious and predictacble. and survivor's problem is that while it gets good midseason, the first six or so episodes are extremely boring unless you have a bitchy gay guy or a team of hot lesbos. but you have to watch them to get familiar with the characters. I don;t know what to do.

so who is watching what and why? is anyone watching any new reality shows like wickedly perfect? I am not.
I am not watching AI except for maybe the first few shows where they show the ridiculously bad baddies and fat fats and cetera.

I will be watching Survivor from the start; it's always good enough to watch on the weekend.

I wasn't aware there was another Apprentice. I'd like to not watch it but I might get overruled.

My TIVO list is now immense. I'm surprised the thing doesn't blow up. - starting on Sundays and working forward:

Arrested Development
Sealab 2021
Aqua Teen Hunger Force
Boston Legal
Law & Order CI
Surreal Life 3
Celebrity Fitness Challenge
Daily Show
24
Real World Philly
Law & Order SVU
Amazing Race
Lost
Law & Order
Apprentice 3
Survivor 10
The OC
I love the 90s Part Deux

Good grief. In addition, my wife Tivos Desparate Housewives, Bachlorette, General Hospital and Real World/Road Rules Challenge. I'm amazed we ever leave the house.

Don't you get to watch most of this shit in private screening rooms before it hits broadcast?

No, just crap like Stepford Wives.
By the way, the Coach Carter premiere was kick ass. Magic was in the house (sans Converse Weapons, alas), as were Dave Winfield, Rick Fox, and a butt-load of other cool sports types. Samuel Jackson was wearing a white beret that didn't do much for me, but YMMV, NTTAWWT, &c. &c.

And you wore it out without noticing "eyeing little girls with bad intent"???? Don't tell me you were one of those that got those lyrics wrong.***

PS - He went down to the bog (not "bar" in a British accent) to warm his feet. Got it?

PSS - That song sucked anyway. Except for when it goes "Do you still remember, December's foggy Breeze?" cause you can dance for a second. But then it starts sucking again.

The invisible hand of Ayn Rand.

Derek Kieper, September 2004: "[I]f I want to be the jerk that flirts with death and rides around with my seat belt off, I should be able to do that . . . ."

Derek Kieper, January 2005: "Urk."

Look for the money quote: "Erica Rogers, opinion page editor at the Daily Nebraskan, said Derek's brains and intensity would be missed." I'm sure no one will miss them quite as much as Derek Kieper.

Absolutely. I taped the second half to watch TAR. Without spoiling too much, I just want to say Oh Happy Day!

As for AI, I'm trying to figure out how many people are intentionally singing like crap and how many just don't know they can't sing.

I'm going to skip The Apprentice this time. Every time I see Trump I think of the magazine that used to call him a "short-fingered vulgarian."

I'm debating on Bachelorette. Last night the Fugee Sis and I went to Phantom The Movie and I decided not to tape it.

My TV addiction is mostly non-reality this season: Lost, Desperate Housewives, and House are all musts for me.

Oh, I'm in again. You may take this for what it's worth in terms of the show being past it's prime.

It's fun to do that. My wife and I often start club nights doing that.

The man had a code. You have to respect the code.

Incidentally, I couldn't help but laugh at this little addendum to the first article.

Editor's Note: The Daily Nebraskan is no longer accepting feedback to this column.

I am clearly going to hell.*
