Are you serious? Are you saying you think people give her a pass because she's black or because she's ridiculously hot? The comment would be the same if it were Jessica Alba or whatever hot white girl you want to put in there. Stop being a jackass.

According to my records, it was a ten day affair for me. I did perform a wedding ceremony on day five though. I had no voice, but I performed the ceremony. The attendees thought I was nervous. I wasn't nervous. I just couldn't talk.

While I can't imagine running 26.2 miles under normal circumstances, running it after all of the energy has been sapped from my body and replaced with aches and coughing and general ugginess seems downright suicidal.

2. I think my hair hurt. I always get the flu shot.
ETA to Hank: The flu is a virus. Your antibiotic abuse only makes MRSAs.

My sister, a seasoned marathoner, is due to run the Marine Corps marathon this weekend. I'm supposed to be going to DC to watch her. Unfortunately, on Tuesday she came down with the flu. I've never had the flu (knock on wood) so I can't really relate, but she sounds very sick. Can't get out of bed, fever, chills, vomiting etc. She is still keen on running this marathon. I think that even if she recovers enough to feel somewhat better by Sunday, the plane travel and marathon running will really do a number on a fragile immune system. I'm trying to dissuade her from doing it (even though I totally want to see her) because I don't want her to collapse during the marathon or get even sicker next week.
Am I being a real old lady about this -- should I not dissuade her from doing it? Anyone run a marathon right after having the flu?

I ran a 10-k with a similar ailment. It is not a good idea.

A scarecrow with pumpkins adorns a yard of burning house on City Creek Road and Highway 330 in Running Springs.

To the extent anyone cares, the LATimes has a pretty large collection of striking images of the fires. Carry on.

Do you think they published the picture because the burning house looks like a jack o'lantern?

Fox get points from me for playing The Pixies' "Here Comes Your Man" on the way to the break after the top of the first. How long 'til they run out of Boston and Denver bands?

that would have to be sirius Black, or maybe the kid who died in the cup fight.
don't know if you heard, but the guy we all assumed McGongall was poking turned out to be a homo. Beards can't be Jesus figures.
