Right -- if drugs sex and rock & roll were the culprits, how would one explain Keith Richards?

On second thought, maybe Mick & Co. are pulling a Weekend at Bernie's on us.

best stand up- Jay Leno on letterman, pre-Leno's tonight show clean-up, Talking about air travel- soon after the air fla. crash "You know, Air Fla. slogan is 'We go where the others don't' Yeah? like the 14th street bridge?" then moving into the crash instructions, and the guy with the inflatable vest floating in the water "you see the look on his face? he doesn't look scared- he looks put out, it's like he looking at his watch thinking 'looks like I'm going be a little bit late getting into LaGuardia..."
can't stand watching the guy now because I can't forget how not-white bread he was.

My roommate has that entire dialogue on a wav file on his computer. He plays it at least twice a week.

One of my favorites:
"What exactly is a barometer?"
"It's pronounced "thermometer"."

Especially when he was on "All in the Family" or "Good Times" or whatever it was giving an earnest lecture about V.D.

Editted to say I once again replied before really reading the post and now realize that PJ was actually saying she hated the VIDEO, and NOT RP. I really think the Knob Creek is beginning to rot my brain...
That was the misogynistic video? The Addicted to Love and the one after it? How onearth is that misogynistic? It was kinda cool, kinda sleek and kinda funny, to have him have these models who look alike, but didnt, play air guitar and move in unison.

Well, RP was not a musical genius. he was always a bit more of a marketing guru than a brilliant songwriter. Addicted to Love is up there with Kasmir and Are You Gonna Go My Way for 'Most Amazingly Repetitive Yet Catchy Song.'

I didn't expect someone like RP to drop dead. I'm guessing he probably had garden variety arteriosclerosis or some wierd genetic condition. He certainly didn't party like Jerry (1974 - Jerry had a cholestrol level in excess of 450 and lived for many months on heroin, Hagen Dazs and smokes while not leaving his apartment) or Warren, who once stated that he had a hard time remembering most of 1978 through 1980.

Right. And despite the video bimbo collection, he gets many points for being such a consistently snappy dresser.

You make these sound like bad things. It's not the fun things in life that kill you, it's the stressors.

Wrong, Palmer was a genius. YOu apparently only know his eighties oeuvre which is classic eighties but not genius. Listen to his seventies funk inspired stuff. Outstanding. Absolutely stands the test of time.

It's a huge dorm room though. I've got a sheet hanging over my bed and everything for privacy. Wanna come over?
