If the idea was to understand odds in a vacuum, sure. Got that covered. But that's not what I'm after (perhaps the original post was unclear) -- having a program allows for practical application of odds in an infinite variety of situations. Rather than trying to figure that my pair of Ks is a 3-1 favorite* when there are two other players in the hand after a 8-3-2 rainbow flop in thirty seconds or less, I'd like to have played that possibility a couple times to have the sense that I'm a strong favorite based on experience before thinking about outs or what anyone else might have.

Learning by doing as opposed to book learning (applies to many subjects, see also law, sex, etc).

* odds made up b/c I don't feel like calculating them

Apropos of nothing, Ashley turned that role down in order to do a six-month stint on Broadway (see? I did more than merely ogle the cover -- I actually read the article).

Anyway, I love Halle. Unlike Atticus and TM, I believe that Halle and Ashley can coexist peacefully.

Indeed.
Why thank you, sock king. I'm up to the third draft of the k post. Trying to make it witty and clever. Not too long, not too short. With something in it for everyone. LOL inspiring, yet poignant. A real feel good post that will be cherished for ages and carried around in fber wallets across the country.

And because I have this daunting task, I will combine posts to mention to TF that she has my empathy on the Heatley/Snyder car wreck -- http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...x.html?cnn=yes

W did good. Fo shizzle.
Unfortunately, I recently discovered that Chirac worked at the Anheuser Busch plant in St. Louis at some point in his life.

"I still like a Bud," he said before an interview Tuesday, recalling time he spent hauling Budweiser beer while operating a forklift at the Anheuser-Busch brewery in St. Louis 50 years ago."

Don't get me wrong, he still gives me the creeps but his like of Budweiser certainly helps to tone down the fucking French thing.

Sort of a surreal day what with the accident happening right after seeing them at the party last night. Deep thoughts for Dany and Dan.
:sniffle:

edited to thank ncs. Sometimes I feel more attached to these guys than to my own family -- I gotta work on this sports neurosis.

Oh, Brother Penske.

Let us put down that rock before flinging it at the glass house of PLF. Upping the ante like this will only increase the inevitable pressure for negative stories on you to emerge.

Like, that night when you started drinking "tea" and next thing you know, we're talking about your joys of posting as Hillary's Big Ol' Butt.* Penske, friend, I'm here for ya in the ensuing lawsuit, but I'm just sayin'.

PS - Did see Rundown last night -- wasn't bad. Exactly what you would expect. Midnight Run meets Commando meets Raiders of the Lost Ark, with none of the best of those movies but it worked anyway.

How could you hate a movie that's basically just a live action cartoon?
But it's not a good live action cartoon, dumbass.

That makes sense. Your movie recs suck so I must like Titanic, the second worst movie (behind Pearl Harbor) ever.

Thurgreed(and the English Patient made my eyes bleed, not unlike a certain someone in a certain shitty movie)Marshall

Now back away. It said "just" for Bilmore, didn't it?

You preferred a derivative studio flick to Once Upon a Time in Mexico? From here on out, Thurgreed, please ignore all my movie recommendations.

Here's a question more your speed:

Was 2 Fast 2 Furious faster and furiouser than the original?

I said Brenda. Hillary's ass is double wide. There is a subtle difference.

You know when the network flashes those polls during games and asks you to log on to participate and you think to yourself, how do they get so many participants -- are there really that many losers sitting there in front of the tv with their laptops in their laps waiting to take a poll or post on some board while they're watching the game?

I used to wonder who these idiots were.

Ashley's come so far since her "Star Trek" cameo.

And I don't see why Halle and Ashley can't coexist. Unless Ashley's gonna start a catfight with Halle over the babealicious Fred Durst.

Two comments about Lisa that were made last night while drinking Schlitz and Hamms:

(1) I guess she looks better than usual, which isn't saying much.

(2) How can boobs look that big in a leather jacket?

Ohio State could beat the Bears. I'm embarrassed.
