Take note that I defended you on this issue. You owe me. Maybe a good word with Lady B?

But if you're not saying that -- if you're saying instead that they're the most evilest fuckers the world has ever known from the moment that Bill Kristol said so, then that's cool. Makes your Qana Staging Photo Scandal a bit irrelevant, but I can be down with that. It does sound like your meter's already set to 11, and the posting's becoming a little unhinged, so I suspect we're passing the inflection point in this discussion anyway.
Way to invoke the politics of personal destruction. But seriously, please let us know the good/defensible things about Hezbollah that separates the individuals from the bad acts of the group? Or is that the you don't think the acts are so bad? And if so, which ones are you in favour of?

of course anyone who has actually read Orwell knows this post is confused given Orwell's actual range- it should have read "reading 1984?" which is the edit I thought ty was making. but given the apparent educational level on this board, no one besdies me who realize this, so ty's post would have held water.

Poll: wasn't Ty's first response better?

For pinot noir, surely. Are there any good Oregon zinfandels?

(N.B. -- White zinfandel doesn't count.)

California is becoming Oregon's Mexico.
Or Nevada's Portugal?

I was also thinking of "Politics and the English Language," so I didn't want to limit myself to 1984. Also, so people who haven't read Orwell are nonetheless familiar with the term "Orwellian" from watching Apple commercials and Eurythmics videos.

WA is better too.

And, fwiw, I have had some very good wines from Mexico. And more than $25/btl, if that helps you Hank.

I don't really read his posts for substance, so its hard to distinguish one from the other. Aren't they just cites to Kos (or Quiggan)?

As I've written for several posts now, regardless of whatever happened in Qana, I'm perfectly happy to stipulate that they're super-duper evil fuckers, and would support killing them and leaving their corpses to be molested afterwards.

My question to you was, since you raised with such confidence the specter of Untoward Events in Qana -- which of those scenarios did you think happened? It's a simple question, yet you're expending real efforts to back away from it.

but before he does, let's be clear it'll just be his opinion posted on the internet. you guys can't cite it later as a fact.

isn't anyone else bothered that the Washington Post would still say 50 some people were killed?

Isn't anyone else bothered that Hank is smearing the Washington Post?

They actually had a reporter, Anthony Shadid, in Qana. His story says that 27 bodies were pulled from that building in Qana, and that "[t]he Lebanese government said that at least 57 people were killed in an Israeli attack on the same village Sunday, 37 of them children." So what's the problem with his story?
