i think the NYT, something not Fox-biased, had a story about what happens after M. the conclusions was that Pakistan voters were not behind a fundamentalist party. they were largely behind not religious parties. Onthe other hand, I remember in 2002 Osama was the most popular boy's name, so I may be wrong.

Musharraf presents the classic problem. He is clearly preferable to he democratic alternative in the short run. But keeping him in power may necessitate authoritarian means. Which choice to make is real dilemma.
