I have made a lot of money betting against Cal over the years. It gives me some solace when they lose.

NaNoWrMo

After finally settling down to write on Friday evening, I have a whopping 2100 words. That puts me "only" 8,000 words or so behind the pace.

I'm having a hard time not going back and editing my crap writing into -- edited crap, but I have to remember that the point of NaNoWrMo is quantity not quality. So far I have neither, but am hoping to pick up speed.

Is anyone else beside Replaced Texan doing this?

Sorta. I have 1500-ish words. Written on Nov. 1. I'm hoping to get back to it at some point soon. Out-of-town a lot this month AND moving, so it turns out to be a rough month to try this...

My moniker on the nanowrimo site is notcase.

The neighbors down the street put up their Christmas lights this weekend. They may experience an "electrical problem" this week. It's just wrong. Wrong wrong wrong.
It's too early. And Home Depot had Christmas trees in the store yesterday. I can't take it.

What? Nobody else finds it really funny that the lesbian sex is going on in the bathrooms of a place called "Banana Joe's?"

It's National Write a Novel Month.

And in publishing houses all over the country, December is National Reject a Novel Month.

O the pleasure with trees!
The orchard—the forest—the oak, cedar, pine, pecan-tree,
The honey-locust, black-walnut, cottonwood, and magnolia.

Now, would this be a real tree?

I have become quite attached to the custom of killing a live tree and dragging it kicking and screaming into the living room. Plus, they smell better.

Since I am here.

I usually spend my time on politics, but that board really no longer exists.

But, some of you may be interested in this work safe link: http://parisfacial.ytmnd.com/ . Turn down the sound first.
