I have a set of sterling sporks. They're actually ice cream forks and like their plastic counterparts, they are remarkably useful implements.

Sure, you look. But do you look twice? That's the real test--whether your mind overcomes your instincts.

If they pass the initial inspection, I usually go in for the blind taste testing.

Or, when you inadvertently see breasts, while someone is breastfeeding in public, and the shawl slips, for instance, can you separate it in your mind? Like, okay, those breasts are for food and therefore, that part of my brain is shut down now.

Did they?
My theory: only if they enjoyed it.

Golden Globes - random questions
When did Martin Scorcese start morphing into a Marx brother?
Does anybody else think it would be hellishly dull to be married to Warren Beatty?
Did America Ferrara tear her sleeve between the red carpet and receiving her award? Maybe during a hug with a castmate when the show won its award? And am I crazy, or did America Ferrara actually look better (not hotter) than Salma Hayek? (Maybe it's more accurate to say that America Ferrara looked her best, while Salma Hayek did not?)

Nope. Not at all like that. Those breasts are for food today, but within six months are they good visual entertainment?

I'd say that she was more likely to have cheated than he, since she presumably is attracted to and enjoys kissing boys.

Assuming that is the case, and based upon the universal laws of cheating reciprocity, the hetero BF has a freebie coming to him, and in context, does he to find a lady-loving lesbian to make out with or can any old hetero chick do?

I just got a bunch of sterling demitasse spoons. Perfect size for eating soft boiled eggs and getting lost in the seat cushions. Next up: fruit knives and forks. Then I think I'll be done with fancy cutlery for a while.
Well, maybe I'll convince myself that a lettuce fork is a worthwhile instrument after all.
Incidentally, has anyone here ever eaten fish with two forks (as opposed to knife & fork)? Care to explain just how that operation is conducted? I have a sneaking suspicion its like dessert with fork and spoon (seems hard to explain, but when you're sitting there with the implements in either hand there's sort of only one way to go about it), but I'm curious. I don't eat fish, and the one time I was at a dinner table set with two forks I was too drunk to pay attention.

Gay Canadians Need Not Apply.
From the Observer:- Aaron Brett Charney, an associate at white-shoe firm Sullivan & Cromwell, filed a lawsuit this morning against his law firm, alleging sexual orientation discrimination and retaliation. Mr. Charney, a graduate of Brown and Columbia Law School, works in S&C's famed corporate department. As of presstime, his biography was still posted on the firm's website. According to Mr. Charney, he is still employed at the firm, and is representing himself.
In the documents filed this morning, Charney claims that a partner in the firm tossed a document at Mr. Charney's feet, and said, "Bend over and pick it up—I'm sure you like that."
The complaint also alleges discrimination against Canadians.

Now that is interesting (to me, and probably only to me). Back in the day, when I was thinking of joining a New York law firm, it was pointed out to me by many that S&C hired a whole bunch of Canadians and was generally very Canadian-friendly. I wonder when things took a turn for the worse. I would like to read this complaint.
Oh, just read it -- we are irrelevant. Hmmph. I guess no one at S&C has ever used an irrelevant thing called a "telephone." Or watched a game of "basketball." Or watched a movie in IMAX. Or written in green ink.*
Bastards.
*apparently we invented green ink. Way to go, Canada.

When they started discriminating against a gay man who happened to be canadian?
Or maybe he's asserting that the "bend over-you like it" line constitutes evidence of discrimination against gays and Canadians.
