In short, since i am busy, Carrie shouted, Constantine was aiiight for me, dog, Vonzelle was pretty good but i dont like her face, the fat guy was boring, the twirpy little freak has got to go, and Bo rocked the show. Oh, and Anwar was predictable and boring. I think he is getting close to getting kicked off.
It took me over an hour to get 25 Bo calls in. Did people vote for otehrs. did they have a hard time getting through to anyone?
Prediciton: the Fat, the Freak and Anwar bottom three. The Fat is gone.

Carrie not only shouted, she had serious pitch problems. The only reason I can think they were so complimentary to her (and to Vonzell, who always has pitch problems) is that they want to keep the two remaining girls on the show.
Scott got a gift the last couple of weeks when they let him stay, but he did not suck this week. Anthony definitely did suck. Anwar seemed to be having fun, but still lacks charisma. Constantine did quite nicely, though not as astoundingly as the previous week. Bo picked the perfect song, and seemed to be his old self again.
I think at this point the horse race is between the two "rockers." I really really really want Anthony to go home, but I've been saying that for several weeks now.

Interesting. I dont think Bo can go the distance. I dont thin kthere are enough seventies rock loving me types out there actually watching this show. If they are, they are too baked to pick up the phone. Constantine has the twelve year old girl thing. Any self respecting rocker knows he almost sucks. I think Carrie will win bc she is an American Idol on paper. Cute, blonde, not too smart, and can sing good enough. Is country making a comeback? Of course that twirpy little albino might be a dark horse since apparenlty he has fans.
Who do you think goes tonight? Did you vote?

I have not voted for several weeks. Somehow I just don't care enough this season. Based on sheer number of bottom 3 appearances, Scott will probably go. But don't hold me to that--sometimes the American voting public is really really dumb.

Hubie Brown? "This Newfoundlander has a tremendous amount of upside. The upside is frankly astounding."
Bill Walton? "The Pointer ith pphphuting on an abtholute clinic here in the ring. Throw it down, Pointer! Throw it down!"
Tim McCarver? "What was the handler thinking in not taking the Maltese all the way down the corner! One of the worst blunders I've ever seen! I mean that's just elementary!"

On my favorite local pop-culture/sports/all around wacky radio show here in LA (Petros!), they broke the story that Admiral Ackbar was the new coach of the Notre Dame football team. I almost drove off the road when they cut to the fake press conference.
Today on the show, Petros did his weekly movie review (recent reviews, The Natural, Apocalypse Now, Scarface) of . . . wait for it . . . Aladdin! The producer of the show inserted drops of fans booing, basically throughout the entire 20 minute review, and the next 20 minute segment of calls about Aladdin. Funny funny funny shit. Gatti, NCS, Mr. Man, you gotta listen to 1540 AM between 12:00-2:00.

I think he has a name that is a total of two syllables and may end in a color, such as White or Brown. Maybe Chris Brown? Mike Brown? Steve White? He is a big meaty fuck.

Wait, he is the color guy. He says things like "How many dogs can a judge put on her shortlist?" "Has the judge already decided when she puts them in ordre?". Pretty uncolorful.

Episode III

The quality of Star Wars films or lack thereof will have no spill-over effect onto anyone else. It's Star Wars, it has its own rules. George Lucas gets to print his own money, through the Star Wars stuff, through Industrial Light and Magic, through Raiders (if he and Speilberg ever agree on a script to do Part 4). The rest of us know this, and we deal. Enviously.
The studios would love LOVE LOVE a franchise like Star Wars. Warner's got the closest thing, with Harry Potter. The Star Wars franchise is what it is because the first two were very very good movies. Here's hoping someone can come up with something as good. There's plenty of incentive.

The Laocoön Group was discovered in Rome in 1506, sans right arm. Rafael was appointed judge of a contest sponsored by the Pope to build a replacement arm. Rafael was swayed by those, including Bandinelli, who argued that Laocoön's moment of death must have been depicted in a heroic gesture of defiance against the god who commanded his death. In counterpoint, Michelangelo argued (correctly) that the missing arm was bent back over Laocoön's shoulder. He based his surmise on his study of classical sculpture and anatomy: the muscle flexion of the chest and back indicated a bent arm.
They found the arm in 1957, 2,117 years, give or take, after the arm was first lost. It was in a builder's yard in Rome.

I was going to write, "Be patient. I'll get better."
But then I realized we have already all made this joke, or some variation of it. It is getting toward the end of the day here in the Central Standard Time zone, and I suggest that it may be time to put to bed the whole mmm-said-first-time-sex-is-never-great-then-tried-to-back-off-his-ridiculous-statement-and-we-mocked-him-for-making-the-statement-and-also-for-trying-to-justify-it-and-now-it-has-evolved-into-a-unilateral-mind-blowing-IM-sex-schtick thing. Tomorrow is a new day. It will be tempting to make some reference to something getting better after the first time, or a reference to mind blowing sex based on seeing an internet ad or something. And no doubt that doing so will elicit a few smiles of recognition. "Heh, heh, I remember that joke from yesterday." But let's not do that. It's too easy and we all know it's too easy. If we're going to save the FB, we need to demand more from ourselves. I know we're capable of more, and for once, I refuse to settle.
