James Spader. But the problem is it's as if David Kelley, now that Ally McBeal is off the air, has merged the two shows. Spader is completely Ally McBeal material, right down to the Robert Downey glasses and mannerisms. We'll see if Sharon Stone helps matters in this way.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

James Spader - yes of course. And yes, a Robert Downey ripoff, but without the drugs (yet).
But didn't you laugh at him? He's great.
And Sharon Stone is just smarmy enough to play off of his character - it should be fun.
My only problem is with a former white collar antitrust attorney who should have been disbarred for embezzlement going straight to crim - with a hearing on his first day, unofficially hired.
And yet, it plays because most people don't know.

Totally unnecessary statement along the lines of Lester's reply to the song thread that he isnt gonna reply to the song thread. People, if this board is boring and not worthy of your posts, then stop lurking and leave already. I wont miss you.

Then AG with his little critique of Friends. Pal, this show had plenty of funny moments and one of the all time great sitcom romances. It had great characters in its time. You apparnetly have seen too many reruns so that its gotten stale, or are still watching after the characters have gotten to the end of their arc (and I hvanet seen it in two years so I am not saying they have). But this show was very funny for a lot of people. Just bc someone is too erudite , or fancies himself that way, does not mean that someone should think his special little brain is wired the same way as those of us Friends loving and laughing masses. Maybe Bilmore has room in his kayak for that ibg head of yours?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scrubs is the best show on network TV right now. Friends has had its moments, and all in all, has been better than most television. Coupling is not as good as it could be. The dialogue is wooden. The blonde from "Life of the Married man" is still smokin. Put ER out of its misery. Will and Grace is still pretty funny, but its nearly out of gas.

The above paragraph I just wrote is pathetic. Why anyone would watch network TV when we all have digital cable and on demand movies and TivO available at reasonable cost is utterly mind-boggling. Like network television isn't dull enough, here I find myself mentally masturbating over which bland selection is better than the other. "Hmmmm... I'll have the really VANILLA vanilla today, Chip. And what the hey... put some vanilla sprinkles on it! Hot diggity darn... I'm livin it up!"

S(This board ain't got no heart)D

I say it proud; shouting it from the rooftops, as it were, "I LIKE THE SHOW FRIENDS AND I THINK IT'S REALLY FUNNY!!" Some years were definitely better than others, I grant you, but last year was primo.

(I feel a little like ABBA admitting her love for boy-bands.)

I just had to leave in the thing about the kayak because -- well, just because.

Honey,

You miss that very clever, and pithy, passover joke. Then you proclaim that you love Friends. I am not sure you are erudite enought to hang here. You remind me of that chick in my fabulously fabulous law school who asked the silly questions that made class runneth over that begged the question "how did she get in here? ". You can forget Atticus, sister. I dont see him posting about porn and you clearly dont have the mental guns of a Tina Fey with her over the top hilarious writing and sexy dark rimmed glasses (how 1998!) coverning some beady ass eyes. You might have a chance with Abba though, if you would consider the cyber bi thing.

If you missed the Jenna Jameson E! true Hollywood Story, then you don't know that she has a bigger rock than JLo's. Not pink though.

She also has bigger TITS than JLo's, but maybe that is already common knowledge.

I believe that JLo has a bigger ass, if it makes her feel any better.

I knew I'd hear from you on this one. Yeah, he's overrated by whom? His fellow players who make him a Pro-Bowl player? The media who can't get enough of quarterbacks who can do it all - pass, think, run. You're so blinded by your politics that you jump to Limbaugh's defense for the sake of jumping to his defense.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Apparently, I'm not the onlyone Note the statistic comparing McNabb to Brad Johnson. And call any number of Eagles fans. And for such a talented athlete as McNabb, he sure can't get that team to score, can he?

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marino never won a superbowl either. Is he overrated because the media considers him one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes. Never won the big game. Vinny Testeverde is now an all-time passing leader. You wanna call him one of the greatest quarterbacks?

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh, cry me a fucking river. You're bitching about people getting interviews? Interviews? You sound like a complete jackass.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I sound like a complete jackass for merely pointing out that FACT that the NFL makes an express issue out of race by mandating quotas under penalty of fine? I didn't even express my opinion on the topic. What the fuck is wrong with you, dude?

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So what the NFL is trying to get all the white owners to consider someone they normally wouldn't. They aren't guaranteed a position, dumbass. How is asking a team to interview someone a problem? Are you worried about owners being inconvenienced? They won't have as much time to jerk off because they have to interview another candidate that they won't really consider? Please.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why go through the motions of interviewing someone you don't intend to hire?

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And given the number of black players out there, you would think that there would be more black coaches, wouldn't you? But I doubt I'll ever hear you yelling about the intelligent black players who are never considered for coaching positions or the stereotypes coaches have to fight to move up the coaching chain.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think its atrocious that Chris Chambliss and Willie Randolph haven't made head coach yet. Said it before and I'll say it again.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fuck them. No one's going to win them over anyway. And Limbaugh deserves to be piled-on. He's a moron who is getting what he deserves. In fact, it's what he wanted. He realized he was no longer relevant (if he ever was) so he decided to rile everyone up again to get some attention. So you should be happy he's succeeded in doing exactly what he aimed to do.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At first I thought it was an idiotic hire, until someone pointed out to me that hes a perfect fit for the football watching demographic

That's not referring to Ross and Rachel, is it? Because the idea that a schlub that repulsive and lacking in personality who's not famous could get laid without buying a hotel room and a hooker is fucking ludicrous. That he would be in a torrid off-an-on romance with someone ten thousand times more appealing yet so clearly destined to be a society trophy wife is even more ridiculous. What the hell is the appeal of that guy?

Joey is stupid but pleasant and easy on the eyes. Chandler at least has some wiseass humor going for him. But Ross?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will always be grateful to you for the Office introdcution. But how about a clever, and pithy, show with more than three episodes, next time? I think I have seen the "bad news and irrelevant news" episode more times than I have seen the excellent, and hilarious, Friends episode with the video of Monica and Rachel's prom night. "hello, Mis-terre Kot-terre" indeed.

Though I have taken to saying "gutting" with a fake britich accenet whenever something tragic happens. which is all the time. that is my favorite word right now, so long as its pronounced with the fake accent.

And dont think I missed the pedantic and condescending remark about the "minor" point of whether Friends always sucked or does only now. Apparently it wasnt so minor that it was incldued in one of your fucking essays about television: its good when Atticus says so.

Limbaugh irrelevant? I wish. The man has an audience 10X that of Stern. There's a lotta hayseeds with radios, and they're mad.
