Actually, I'm all in favor of a full-blown GA (weekend) nite out. The problem is that the "outing" potential is all too great.
As we are all aware from the articles in NYLJ, Calilaw, etc., these Boards are monitored closely by the media. The last thing we would need is some direputable reporter showing up at the bar of our choosing and start naming names.
I'm sure a small gathering could be organized discreetly in the not-to-distant future, but it would have to be done via e-mail off the Board, and even then there would be a slight risk. That could be alleviated somewhat if people refrain from using their own names.
If anyone is interested in this type of proposal, send me an e-mail and we can discuss further.

Oh, I understand the super-sneaky method by which you managed to talk to someone on your ignore list. The point was, why do you bother Ignoring if you you're not ignoring? It's a silly waste of attention-getting time.

Thanks! And a special thanks for all of your support throughout the years. For you, I will always be stuck in 2001. As for the rest of you, do not give up on the Newbers. Today's Newber is tomorrow's Mid-Skooler. What they lack in street smarts, they make up for in refreshing naivete. Remember, a Newber is a terrible thing to waste.

And there it is. The beginning of the end. Ragnarok. Armegeddon.
If that initial GA meeting never happened, think of all the lives saved.

Sorry about that. I've never tried to put a Mod on ignore so I hadn't come across that particular twist.

I thought it was kinda cute when she posted "Lookin' good, 4ys" in the Re: line and then "eom" in the body. I might have to make a sock for that.

I don't really mind doing it, but I suspect that this particular ignore list will be refined quite a bit, and I have little interest in going in and out of the database all day long.

I agreed/agree with you the best approach is for me to firm up the list and then contact you.
