I would agree (see, e.g. 20-year or so war in Montreal against the Rock Machine). However, that often leads to others getting caught in the crossfire.

I also can't see them lending support to some "political/religious" group unless there is some drug trade involved or some other way for them to make a lot of money.

Even then, I don't think that there's that much of that inter-chapter rivalry crap anymore. I don't think they're so much your father's HA's anymore and still get a bad rap because of the old days. From my limited exposure, most of these guys pretty much hang among themselves, and won't fuck with you unless fucked with.
