And you should be thanking me (in a weird twisted kind of way). Without the snarking you'd have nothing else on Friday but Peske and his socks talking to one another (See previous page in its entirety).
And without my so-called defensiveness (I'm not really defensive you know) we wouldn't have had the witty Lisa G commentary, the Lisa G award of the day or THE COOL LAMPS. The ncs commentary was hysterical.

Man, give a sister a little credit. Before I started the whole snarking thing with StickShifter, all I read was I'm bored, this is boring, we're all bored. Look back if you don't believe me.

And maybe, this was just more bait for me. It seems I'm easily baited. But really...I'm not defensive - or paranoid - it's just that everyone's out to get me.

Yes, I am here. I'll provide the local insight that the W Lakeshore, while formerly a Days Inn, has pretty nice-sized rooms. As does the W City Center. I know this from talking to others who have stayed there, after I complained about the W Times Square being so tight that they have to leave your bags in the hall so you have a place to stand.

The best part of either Chicago W is the "Whiskey Sky" bar on the ultimate floor of the W Lakeshore. Loungey feel, fantastic view. And, for 9 dollars, a waitress will take a deep whiff of scotch and spit in your glass.

REM will go down in history as the lamest band ever to have a lead guitarist with an arrest record. Whatever single is playing over the radio right now sucks like a cum-guzzling black hole.

Don't bother telling me they've sucked ever since you graduated from college, yadda yadda yadda. I know this. I discovered it with some sadness on the Saturday after I graduated from college, before I could re-tune all the presets on my car stereo to NPR. But this single sucks so bad I wish Michael Stipe would go back into the closet, and not the metaphorical kind.

I've had to stay in a lot of the Chicago hotels over the past few for all kinds of reasons. Of the ones I've stayed in, I'd say my faves were the Swisshotel and then the Fairmont.

The absolute worst was the French hotel up by water tower place. A 1 hour wait for the valet to get a car and what appeared to be a rather large blood stain on the carpet.

I wouldn't mind hearing a general ranking of the W, the Swisshotel and the Fairmont from anyone who's stayed at the three. No need to state reasons, I'd really just be interested in seeing if I should be staying somewhere nicer when I have to be downtown at, e.g., 6 AM.
