the kiss of death

Awwww, poor baby. Someone is going to "smear" him by talking about his brilliant legal analysis in favor of torture.
As I recall, they treated Ginsburg with kid gloves despite her often ludicrous positions as head counsel of the ACLU.

And if the discussion (i.e. smears) from the left regarding Gonzales is limited solely on his "torture" memo, I'll eat my hat.

The Jebus Trash doesn't control shit. Like every other non-election year, once they've been used, they're largely ignored. Who they gonna vote for other than the GOP? The GOP knows it owns those rubes.

The purse strings, as always, are held by big business. You'll see Alberto and then a non-religious strict constructionalist.

My silly prediction is that a lot of the country has had it with the Jebus Fucks, and the smart money in the GOP may already be shifting to lay its money on a moderate next time around. Just my thinking.

I have no issue with Gonzales.
2. As former Texas Supreme Court Judges go, he's a shitload better than Cornyn or Owens.

The game is over. Bush will get his first choice, regardless of the blood that is let.

Lindsey Graham was Hannity's radio show today and made it clear the party will hold its ground, including returning to the use of the nuclear option.

He also pointed that W was elected twice on an explicit platform of intending to appoint the right kind of judges, i.e judges in a Scalia/Thomas mold. The people elected him on that platform, and this is the type of pick the Senate Reps are looking for. (Graham's point not mine, although 2)

Visions of Dana Bible orchestrating his self-created Prevent Offense for the Philadelphia Eagles comes to mind.

So will the lefties who try to use that smear. Its a non-starter. The faculty of Berkeley and Paul Krugman are the only people who give a shit.

Nada. Just a thought passing through my head. Other than the potential tie, law journal articles on how O'Connor or some other candidate would have voted, etc.

It might befit a 6-y-o, yet still work on the target audience. Plus I think some conservatives criticize his stances on abortion and affirmative action -- with which stances I'm not familiar, but I think that's code for "doesn't properly respect the sanctity of life/is OK with some types of affirmative action," both of which would seem to kill him as a nominee anyway.

Yes, that's a no brainer, everyone already knows McCain is the frontrunner.

Cool. I'm on the Berkeley faculty.

Hey what's the name of the guy who drafted that memo thingy? I forget. Paul something? Peter something? Totally something else something?

Hannity's radio show? A minute of that crap is the equivalent of ten nitrous oxide hits to your brain. Are you intentionally trying to regress to an absoute shit for brains red state rube? I say this as someone who cares. Jesus Fucking Christ... read NR, listen to even O'Reilly. But for God sakes... Sean Hannity is a fucking gravel monkey with a mic. He's got the political knowledge and debating acumen of the average bowling alley bartender.

And this goes for lefties who enjoy Franken and Garfalo as well. Listen to that shit at peril to your brain.

Weird that, since your brethren don't like him, according to Yahoo, because

Quote:
In March 2000, Gonzales, then a Texas Supreme Court judge appointed by Bush, joined the majority in ruling that a 17-year-old girl could seek an abortion without telling her parents.

Gonzales also upset abortion foes during his confirmation hearing for attorney general when he described the Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion as the "law of the land" and promised to enforce it.
