I've had better tacos in Fresno than in SF.

I'm thinking that anyone who chooses to live in Detroit comes to this conversation with diminished credibility.

Or attacking Fresno. Cheney said they have ties to AQ.

There's a big ME population in the Detroit area too. I think Hank has probably been seen in the same location as people who might support organizations that have dealt with organizations that at one time dealt with organizations that have given money to groups that are affiliated with groups that were at one time affiliated with AQ.
Someone should check that out.

I think that's true in the west and north east, but I've heard great things about the south - Tampa in particular.

Incidentally, did I miss the memo about the PB and FB switching for the day?

Interesting Take on Putin Revelation
Quote:
This forces the question: Why wasn't the Russian intelligence included in the administration's case for war? The shocked reaction its revelation elicited from the U.S. intelligence community on Friday suggests an answer: Contrary to the Russians' claims, they never supplied it. And why would they? Armed with a host of compelling justifications for regime change, the U.S. didn't exactly need another reason to oust Saddam. The Russians weren't about to give them one, in any case. Now, eager to mend fences, they've relented.
But possibly the biggest reason to doubt claims that Russia actually turned over the intelligence to the United State is its source, the FSB. The agency put up fierce objections to war in Iraq. So fierce, in fact, that one eminent Russian media defense analyst described the agency in 2003 as "a leading party of the pro-Saddam lobby."

Saddam's man in Al Qaeda

Ackerman shouldn't be so skeptical. Hayes has already addressed all of these issues. The different name thing is not an obstacle to establishing this link, because, as Hayes notes, "such discrepancies are common." And of course the link to intelligence is there because of the evasive answers he gave to the Jordanians and because of the "interest" the Iraqi government showed when he was captured. So, it is clear that he had to have intel training and therefore must have been high up in Saddam's hierarchy.
Saw this guy Hayes on the Daily Show last night. He reminds me of nothing so much as those guys who keep listening to Beatles records backwards in order to find clues as to the manner in which Paul McCartney died and was replaced by a body double back in 1966.
edited because Spencer Abraham is an entirely different person than Spencer Ackerman, despite the fact that their names have the same number of syllables.

Hey now, are you telling me that James Joseph Christopher McGillicuddy _is_ or _is_ _not_ the same guy as William Joseph Christopher Delaney? Such discrepancies are common.

Tampa has awe-inspiring examples of such entertainment. I've heard good things about Atlanta too. The New Yorkers think they're the best -- but get serious.

But folks are still looking for a link to Iraqi intelligence.

What was that quote from General Franks (former Chairman, JCS ) -- "Doug Feith is the dumbest f*cking guy on the face of the earth!" ?

No, we make no such assertions.
Strip bars in NYC just plain suck when compared to Vegas, Florida and Texas.
