Well, you did talk about it here. And I voted! (Process of elimination and all that. )

For my friend Hotel rooms in sf?

Not sure If I am allowed to post this but this is for one of my friends in San Jose. If interested, please pm me.

Hello All,

I have a small block of rooms that is NOT filling up at the Hilton SF Financial District for the nights of October 12, 13, and 14. If you or anyone you know might be in need of a room in SF anytime during this period, please direct them to me and I’d be more than happy to make their reservation. Room rate is $189, which is outstanding for SF! Hotel located near North Beach/Chinatown and underwent complete renovation earlier this year.

Whenever questions arise about his doping, he wraps himself in the cloak of cancer fighter. In every interview I've seen in the past few years, this has been his approach.

"Lance, additional allegations have been brought against you concerning your use of performance enhancing drugs. Can you address these new concerns?"

"As a cancer survivor, there isn't much I can say, except to tell all those kids out there to keep fighting."

Right. Okay, Lance. He's full of shit.

TM

Thing is, what's he going to do, tell the truth?

"Thanks Nike et al, but I don't want that $10M plus a year anymore, I think I will blow up my brand. Bye!"

That said, other than the cult of St. Lance, I don't think this is a big deal (the doping), although I know you won't agree, in that in cycling, unlike baseball for comparison, its an even playing field, i.e. they are all doping.

Um, no, I didn't talk about it here. Someone did, and I'm not too happy about that. I realize I walk a fine line sometimes, but I don't think I stepped over it this time.

Edited to note: I see where the confusion is coming from, and yes, I did talk about it initially here. I didn't think it was going to go anywhere and when it did, I shut the hell up. But it is my silliness for saying anything about it in the first place. So maybe we should all just be quiet and move on. It's really only one person that I don't trust.

And sorry for causing confusion.

On the day that an associate was let go (when tensions were extremely high):

Partner: "Can you do that for me by next Friday?"
Coltrane: "Yes. Assuming I haven't been fired."
Partner: "What does that mean?"
Coltrane: "I don't know what that means."
you need to start acting like a partner. today, right now, go back stab another associate- someone who sees you as a friend would be best.

start only talking to Partners- get shitty to the staff, when you're at the urinal and there are only associates there DO NOT FLUSH, if a partner is there, flush of course.

Get more and more negative, next time they fire someone, offer to pick up his work "because you've been fixing it for the last few years anyway....I can't believe you didn't boot his ass a year ago, he's a useless fuck..." Never one good word about any other associate. Not one.

Within a year the partnership will realize you are someone they need to make the "partner in charge of telling people they're fired"- you'll be recognized for your thick skin-

side benefit? once you're the partner who fires people even senior partners will avoid you- you never know when your time has come, and the only thing they know for sure is the word will come from Coltrane.

Pretty soon it'll be "come in early, stay late and take an 8 hour lunch." good luck!

how do you make a binding commitment? huge deposit?

2. Do I want to be around for the child?

I want the kid to know a father with some balls, and one who took some risks.

You're going to die someday, Coltrane. And Penske's right. Every minute that goes by is a lost one...

You're only prolonging the inevitable. You know you'll quit. I can sense it in the way you write. You're not wired for the Office. You'd better go, before you get bitter.
It's weird watching you talk to Sebby Jr. It's like Ty@50 sending messages to Ty. Time machine, indeed!

FWIW, Ty@50 regrets almost everything Ty has posted on the PB, but is proud of the flying carpet joke made earlier today.

Where were you in the 80s? The colleges all talk.

As I noted earlier, Fugee's point is valid, but not applicable to Harvard, which does not require a commitment.

When he says...

It should be.....

“There are two levels of guys, You got the guys that dope and get away with it and guys that get caught doping.”

The guys who are just trying to survive are called Cat 1s.
Actually, I think the Cat 1s are doping these days too. At least the good ones.

I was a disadvantage kid, I don't know your rich guy shit. Plus with my grades I sure as shit wasn't assuming anywhere would let me in.

I say to Harvard "You let me in I'll come there." then I apply to SE Idaho State, breaking my promise to Harvard to only apply to Harvard.

I get into Harvard, and commit. 6 months later SEIS offers me a full ride. I take it, tell Harvard sorry. what would prevent me from doing this?

the colleges talk? you mean Harvard would tell every other school that I'm committed so they shouldn't look at my application?

A Modest Proposal

Manchester United are heavy favorites. I think the odds were 33-1 the last time I looked. But miracles can happen.

So I propose the following: I will wager up to three months of board support that Celtic will get a result (as defined below).

What this means is that if Celtic lose, I will pay one month of board support (up to a total of three months) for each person (up to a total of 3) who accepts my wager.

If Celtic draw, you pay. If Celtic win, you pay.

Here is the catch: the game will be carried live tomorrow at 2:30 PM on ESPN2. You have to watch the game. I don't care if you Tivo it or tape it or whatever and watch it later. But in order to collect you will have to demonstrate to me that you watched the game by showing some non-googleable knowledge of the match -- this can be done by either volunteering some piece of information that proves you watched it or answering a question or two that convinces me you saw it.

Any questions? Any takers?

Note: this offer is not open to minors or residents of the Land of Fu.
I would take you up on this as I am pretty confident Celtic will get spanked. But I am still smarting from my only-recently-satisfied World Cup debt. More importantly, I will be unable to catch the game tomorrow.
