TV Shows on DVD -- a Poll

[QUOTE]Originally posted by evenodds
I've never watched MI-5. Is it too hard to pick up now?

Not really because each episode is self-contained. Last night TiVo recorded a previously aired episode from a few weeks ago. The website has a synopsis of each episode that has aired to date plus the usual character profiles.

I recently purchased the Simpson's Treehouse of Horror. Good one to pick up for Halloween. Best $10 I have spent since [insert mama joke here]. Kang and Kodos really crack me up. Hopefully they will release addtional ToH installments in the future.

And. I hate to rain on the paradee, but I remembered shortly after leaving work that the 14th is the Princess's birthday. No theater. No dinner. No hotel.

But with her turning 15, I can look forward to hours, days, weeks, of her begging for driving lessons, learner's permits, and how soon can she have her own car.

Sorry, Paigow.
I can still stay at the hotel cant I?

And Wonk, I have to ask, I was babysitting nights at 14. How is your wife still worried about leaving her home alone?

Let's have a poll, where should Penske stay will be the subject. Serious replies only, its got be cush, my candy-ass demands no less.

And skip the Four Seasons. While an excellent choice, I think I will take the money differential between the Four Seasons and one of the lesser luxury places and roll into my hookers and booze budget.

I will be in a meeting for a couple of hours and will check back then for the results.

Vote early and often (this is a Chicago poll so socks are allowed to vote too!!!)

Merci.
This board is sooooo helpful. It's practically like Fodors!!!! haha Who knew there were so many hotels in Chicago!!! It almost makes me want to take a little trip! My 2 cents: I went there once for a wedding, but I don't remember the hotel where I stayed. But it was not very nice!!!! I hope this helps! LOL   By the way, Mr. Penske, I got a PM today asking me if I was you!!! I said I was!!! hahaha It goes along with my theory that everyone, at some point in their life, for at least a little while, is a sock of Mr. Penske!!!!!!!! I am SO HONORED to make the list!!!! haha This may be my first step toward the Land of FB COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Has she seen the movie Thirteen, perchance?

Burnham and his partner, John Root were VERY bigshot architects, having given birth to the modern skyscraper. Burnham was also the designer of the Columbian Exposition of 1893, which is written about quite brilliantly in "Devil in the White City." In addition to designing the Hotel Burnham and the Rookery, another famous Chicago architectural highlight, Burnham designed Washington, DC's Union Station and numerous other national highlights.

He is part of the pantheon, along with Louis Sullivan, Adler, and Frank Lloyd Wright.

If you want to be on Michigan Ave, it's the Tremont. If you need to be near the Loop, pony up for the Fairmont. Ask for the BP corporate rate. You can easily bluff it, and it's a lot better than the rack rate.

Princess, if I have to bow out on the package, then there won't be a room to stay in.

And as for the wife, she has this neurotic thing going. I'm not sure if it's really about the kids, or if she uses it as an excuse to not go anywhere. All I know is, we haven't been out for more than a couple of hours for years, and it's only been when I've basically forced the issue.

Richard Simmons is a Liar!

From salon.com:

"Richard Simmons parades around first class section of plane in tight Lycra shorts singing to passengers, later says, "I get on a plane and help serve the food and water! Throw pretzels! Get people going! Sometimes I do a little chair aerobics. I’m like the court jester of the sky!""

Link:http://www.salon.com/ent/col/fix/200...mon/index.html

Hummmphhhh...........I actually sat next to him on a flight once, and he did none of these things. He did reach over, pat my knee, and say "good for you, girl" when I pulled my huge bottle of water out of my carry on.

I would have preferred some court-jesterhood.

Really? I think anyone that relentlessly perky should be slapped. Or for god's sake, at least force-fed a couple of Xanax so I can go back to enjoying my trashy magazine.
