LOS ANGELES - Pop singer Britney Spears is engaged to her dancer boyfriend, Kevin Federline. A British tabloid is reporting that the couple became engaged because Spears, 22, is pregnant. He needs to try a different brand of condom. Those generic ones just aren't working.
In other news, or the same news - who knows.
Shaquille's house is for sale in LA for $7.5 mill.

I met their lawyers this weekend at the parade.
And I have gained a new-found sympathy for bead throwers in parades everywhere, especially in gay pride parades. Savages, savages!, I tell you! I kept on throwing and they kept on wanting more. My beads weren't enough for them. They kept on wanting more and more and more. More than I had to give.
It was exhausting.

I'm too lazy to Google, was the headline "Oops, he did it again!"?
Speaking of pop tarts, caught an episode of Newlyweds over the weekend. Jessica looked great -- much better than in her TV ads, etc lately. Nick came across as a witless tool most of the time. Show in general was surprisingly watchable and may make the must-see list.

*sniff* Thank you. I will tell you this: I will never approach a parade crowd one-on-thousands armed only with a box of ball point pens bearing the logo of whoever's float I was on. They nearly ripped me apart with my own pens.

Hey, I'm not ashamed of liking the HP books and movies.
Okay, maybe I am.

This will probably surprise no one, but I am an avid HP fan. I love the books (there really is a lot more to them than just "kids' fantasy"), and the movies are fun -- but not nearly as much fun as the books. I'm on my third read-through of them. (I read them aloud to my son and we're on the second go. I read them silently to myself once, too. But my lips were moving.)

I'd expect more out of you Atticus. Les Parapluies de Cherbourg was an obvious anti-war screed. It told a generation of Frenchmen that if they joined the army, they'd never get to sleep with Catherine Deneuve again. Why do you think De Gaulle pursued a nuclear weapons program? He couldn't trust the men of France to abandon their chance with
This interpretation makes Belle de Jour a cryptofascist embrace of capitalism, which is why it failed to win the Palm d'Or but garnered the Golden Lion in Venice.
Alternately, this post was a pretentious excuse to post a couple pictures of France's contribution to my laminated list.

God, she's a babe.
She's also (allegedly) the author of one of my favorite quotes, viz. "After a certain age, a woman has to choose between her face and her ass." (Although I can't imagine her saying "ass".)

Mira Sorvino marries 22-yr-old guy. I'm liking the trend, though he kind of looks like my avatar (whiskery and stunted head) in that picture.
