With very few exceptions, there are no inherently interesting avatars (hi, gwnc!) here. Look at mine, for example. I forgot the reason I have Rockford -- I had a Bob Newhart one as my first avatar, and that was probably more appropriate for me. But I switched to Rockford as a joke, and now no one would know who was posting if I switched back.
The one possibly valid objection (raised by ncs, I think) is that she runs the risk of being confused with GGG. But dtb has a B&W pic, and no one mixes her up with him. I am sure that before long nononono will establish her personality, and that won't be an issue. And hank screws me up all the time by imitating paigow, so . . .

You're falling for her, aren't you? Fuck Bob. That's not in the rules...

Au contraire. I defend people (well, mostly people who turn out to be socks, but still) all the time. I am the king of the nicey-nice, remember?
Plus, she's really hot.

BTW, I was discussing with my wife the other day the worst rap you ever used to get out of hooking up with someone. I had this canned bit about how I was really upset about my parents and my life and how I had this strained relationship with my dad. I'd make up some story about how he and I fought recently, which had put me out of the mood to hook up. This backfired a lot, however, cuz the cougar-in-training would then feel sorry for my and want to take care of me, at which point I'd have to act absurdly deranged and upset to cut the cord. My wife says she used the same canned shit story, and so did a lot of her friends. I wonder how prevalant the usage of that story is.

Wow, you went to a lot of trouble. Why would you have to come up with a story like this? Couldn't you just head them off at the pass - i.e. "I've got my own ride, thanks", "I've got a girlfriend/boyfriend", "I'm training to be a nun", "I promised my friend I'd go to her place" or the ever-useful "I'm not interested."

Oh, in my single days post college, I'd jusst act really drunk and slurring. This tended to turn women off enough. (Who am I kidding... it was often legitimate).
It was tough, however, at a small school/grad school to reject one girl without screwing up your chances with another (not that anyone even considered fucking me in law school). I felt I had to lie, the same way I lie to my wife about cleaning the cat litter. I could just come clean, but I have somehow make the interrogation a win-win for both of us.

If you changed your avatar back to Bob Newhart, I would know it was you.
