Finally a poem:
I'm not the one behind Pushy The Puppy
Instead he's an infamous socialite yuppie
You've met him before, here and there, now and then
In the garden of blasphemy practing Zen
He has almost no socks in his pitiful drawers
And to tell you the truth, he thinks you are all bores
On the point that is latter I will not opine
I've no taste for your weak-bodied, syrupy wine
So with this thought I leave you: a sock is just wool
That falls over your eyes with a casual pull

Notwithstanding the many layers of coincidental irony, this is not funny. Try bringing back that VSO guy, he was a bit more convincing.
OTOH, fwiw, sts, you did contribute to my poll. What kind of soup do you like?

This was too close temporally and in subject matter to our discussion of Easterbrook on the pb, for which you have just ceded all points. Way to go, Neville.

Can someone explain what they mean in tihs story that Spinal Tap is an American version of an English band? I havent see the film in a long time (shame on me- I will buy it soon), but I thougth that Spinal Tap the band was English. Nigels Tuffnel and Derek Smalls.
And I cant believe they are only doing 2.5 seasons. Thats tragic esp given that a season is six episodes. THe Job ran longer.

Why is JDUMB posting about himself in the third person? Does he think that anyone does not realize that he changed his name to Connect the Dots?
Someoen should do a Connect the Slots sock. It can be about slot b and c action and it can incorporating the stalking of the fbetties by use of the anon function. Maybe JFUCK can do it since he is into New Beginnings and pretending he isnt him and bc nobody stalks quite as well as him.

Some things
- The damned Texans are a typical Houston team. Bring up my hopes so I stay until the end, and then crush me with their inability to follow through.
- I read "Mystic River" over the weekend, and I'm looking forward to seeing the movie. I'll probably see it this weekend.
- The last half of October and first half of November should be declared time off in Houston, so we can enjoy the weather. They owe us for the summer.
- One day, I'm going to track down the person in charge of programming traffic lights in this city. I will then torture such person until the lights have been properly timed to my satisfaction.
uh, I guess I don't have as much as I thought I did.

I'm not sure I totally understand your question, but I think they are just saying that in TIST, American actors were parodying a British Pop/Psychedelic/Metal Band(s) and all of the cliches of rock-stardom generally.
I've never seen the show, but I'm beginning to appreciate why it has struck a chord with so many FB'ers who have seen it. It's summed up in this quote:
" As I say, their worst crime is that they might be wasting their lives because they haven't admitted to themselves they're not happy."

"Version of" was a poor choice of words. I think he meant "take on" or "send-up of," i.e., Spinal Tap = an American spoof of British bands.
Sorta true, but Christopher Guest, while born in NYC, is actually a British peer --- Fifth Baron Haden-Guest of Saling. He inherited the title from his father and has a seat in the House of Lords. He's also a member of another elite club --- people who know whether Jamie Lee Curtis actually has a penis.

Did you not get the memo? Sorry I thought you were on the distribution list. I have already deemed this to be true for Dallas. But instead of bringing it to the attention of my bosses, I've been slealthily enforcing the rule with 4:00 meetings outside the office and the like.
The patios have thanked me.

Honey, the Mojito escorted "Did you not get the memo" out on hits way to Minneapolis about three years ago.
ANd in other news. Not Bob, I think you will enjoy this wedding anouncment. I did not realize Neil Simon married a Tattletales and Match Game veteran (or am I mixing Elain Joyce with Joyce Boulifant?). . http://www.nytimes.com/2003/10/19/fa...ngs/19VAN.html

And, coincidentally, "Her father was an actor, singer and dancer, who starred in "No, No, Nanette," which would have been a lot more interesting if the Red Sox had been playing in game 1 of the world series on the day of the wedding.

Sounds like someone is bitter that she did not receive the memo. I only left you off the list because DC patio season ends so much earlier than Texas patio season. No slight was intended.
