I'll do that the minute you sign up to fight in Iraq. Deal?

Assinine comparison.
Not everyone needs to be soldier on the ground to do their part for the war effort.
However, if one thinks that taxes are artificially too low, that government is underfunded, that programs need to be expanded - the only honest solution is to voluntarily fork over more of your cash to the government.

Oh, come now, Slave. Surely earnest volunteers could do little care packages for beleaguered IRS agents in the trenches, instead, no?

Is this coupled with your previous post a backhanded slap at Ty!?!? If so, bad fourm for an Admin to be publicly derogatorying a Mod. Take it to the Mod Squad Board!

Not so, given the incremental insignificance of anything that any one of us could contribute.
If you believe this, the honest solution is to support increased taxes across some broader spectrum of the population even though it will result in a tax hike for you as well.
I always have -- although I have to say I wasn't paying taxes pre-RR, so I never saw those huge tax rates. He did sort of restructure everyone's perceptions over time, so that today the idea of a top tax rate of 70% seems monstrous even to most "liberals."

You must be _really_ old.
Try again, they've upped the age limits. {We also serve who sit and backfill in the U.S. and Europe.}

What a moronic statement. I could bankrupt myself and pay about .000001% of the deficit Bush's tax cuts have caused.
Calling that "the only honest solution" is beneath you.
eta: But do, please, tell us how you are doing your part for the war effort.

Right back at you, when you argue that giving all my money to the government is "the only honest solution" to my objection to, say, eliminating the estate tax for multi-millionaires.

Who has ever thought that? Some things are underfunded, some are over funded. And some things we have to pay for because we made stupid ass decisions about invading countries we shouldn't have invaded (or at least should have done more to avoid invading and invaded with better preparation if it came to that).
Mostly, I think taxes are a necessarily level. To believe that there is a "right" level of taxation (a necessary prerequisite to believe that taxes are too high) without reference to the spending you need to fund is just as assine as believing that taxes are too low.
But please feel free to give us some entertaining supply-side mumbo jumbo if you would like.
