Cheney's "threats" are bluffs, and I'm not sure their good ones. The rest of the world is smartly assuring Iran that it need not worry about the crap Dick is saying to avoid Dick's statement providing a rallying cry for support for the religious leaders.

The Iranians aren't worried about Dick's threats because they don't believe we have the capability or the stomach for another Mideast adventure.

We're not going to kill a revolution over there. Why do you think we've stopped Israel from bombing Iran for the past two years? You think the Israelis don't already know eactly where each piece of Iran's nuke program is located? They could blow Iran's nuke program back to 1970, but we won't let them.

Put the Tom Clancy novel down, and back away slowly. - But senior officers warned that attacking targets in Iran would be much more difficult than the air campaign against Iraq in 2003. Iran's air defenses are more formidable. Many nuclear-related targets are dispersed across the country or buried deep underground. And United States intelligence analysts acknowledge that they do not know where all of Iran's secret nuclear-related activities are situated.
"Iran poses a very difficult target set," said one former top officer who was involved in target planning. "It's a bigger country, with more rugged terrain. It would be very difficult to take down."

Are the US and Britain playing good cop, bad cop her? I don't know.

Well, if the UK was ever trying to be the good cop, they just changed their tune.

Personally, I blame Grover Cleveland. "Ma, Ma, where's my pa?" indeed.

- Duration calculation results
From and including: Saturday, January 20, 2001
To, but not including : Wednesday, April 12, 2006
It is 1908 days from the start date to the end date, but not including the end date
Or 5 years, 2 months, 23 days excluding the end date
Yup. You're right. It's that redneck hillbilly horndog bastard's fault.

I believe you whiffed. The "Clinton's fault" thing was making fun of how Hank/Penske would spin this into bouncing off Bush- wasn't it? Burger?

Ah, sweet forgetfulness.
Hank - I'm concerned - will your insurance cover a trip to a cognitive neurologist? I think you should make an appointment.

If you were penske, maybe you would make the argument that the Culture of Lies initiated by the Clinton Administration's permissiveness has so thoroughly permeated government that it is now an integral and necessary component of any administration.
You're no penske.
<sniff>
P.S. Also, Senator Byrd is a racist.

I'm trying to figure out if it's an original whiff, or a modified reverse whiff with a twist.

right- weather balloons. i should have said a plausible reason-
worse news Sebastian's "get them porno" solution to the Islamists appears to be a non-starter:
http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exer...CA0D60C858.htm
- Playboy's Indonesia offices attacked
Hundreds of Muslim protesters have attacked the offices of the newly-published Indonesian edition of Playboy magazine.
On Wednesday, about 300 activists from the Islamic Defenders' Front (FPI) rallied outside the building to demand that the local version of the magazine, which carries no nude photos, cease publication.
They tore up copies of the magazine and threw stones at the building, shattering windows.
Protesters say Playboy is synonymous with pornography

Yeah, I think you're right. (And there is no shame in the occasional whiff. Hmmm. Perhaps I need a " Dave Kingman" sock) Hence my follow-up about missing Penske.
At any rate,

a good writing coach could help you identify and eliminate un-necessary words in your prose style.

Know any? Please send her contact info. Also, I need her to be 21-25, and Swedish. My current coach and I aren't getting along as well as we used to.

Okay- but they did exist- they weren't imaginary. Our intelligence on their function was wrong.

No, our intelligence on them was correct -- there were serious doubts that they had anything to do with WMD. The Admin just chose to supress that intelligence in order to portray these, falsely and dishonestly, as conclusive evidence of WMD.

As to bush mentioning them as proof 2 days after some report was written let me ask you, have you ever worked in government? do you have any idea was filing a report means in governement. what is the lag time between such a report and it being reviewed and funneled to the President?
When an associate does a memo for you, do you always review it that very day?
|
No. But generally I make sure to read the memo before starting any wars.
