I did not see the post, so I don't know whether the edit was appropriate or not. I will say that if it was a snarky post about Burger being too anal and the irrelevance of whether or not an avocada is a vegetable, well then I'm sad about the edit.

I'm bored. Should I skip out early???

Yatta!

Skinny Japanese men in their underwear, singing.

I'm speechless. But it did make me giggle, in a WTF were they thinking kind of way.

Hey, oh, way to go, Ohio.

Apropos of nothing, here's an amusing comment from Bill Simmons re LeBron's hat choice:
  • Speaking of Cleveland, how 'bout LeBron wearing a Yankees cap to the Yanks-Tribe game last night? Why not just hold a news conference to say, "I'm signing with the Knicks in two years?" Has there ever been a bigger and more random slap in the face to an entire city of sports fans? Even if you're a Yankees fan, don't you have to hide this in a PLAYOFF GAME THAT'S IN CLEVELAND???? I'm still speechless. I'm without speech. We're within three years of Knicks GM Anucha Browne Sanders introducing Bron-Bron to the New York media as Spike Lee sobs happily in the background.

Whatever Torre wants, Torre gets.

Wish I had seen this one a couple of days ago. Yankees decline wildcard

Favorite quote:
  • "I'm not even sure how this, what do you call it, 'wild card?' Right…how this wild card even works," said Yankees shortstop and team captain Derek Jeter, who made "air quotes" gestures every time he uttered the phrase. "Can a team even make it to the World Series from such a position? Seems like charity to me. And the Yankees are nobody's charity case."

"Try to remember that the Yankees are blessed by God himself," Jeter added. "If God wanted us to be a wild-card team, He would have done so when He created the Yankees over 100 years ago."

In light of "For years, Marion Jones angrily denied using steroids. On Friday, she admitted it was all a lie," and everyone else, is there any top athlete in a major sport that you simply could not believe took performance enhancing drugs?

I cannot think of one.

Is curling a major sport? Oh, fuck it. No way somebody handles a broom like that without chemical help. The sport is dirty.

eta seriously, I don't think there is a top athlete in a major sport where a drug bust would surprise me. Esp. re HGH.

After '10, when LeBron can opt-out, they have Zach and Jared Jeffries under contract. If Isiah can stop himself from doing anything egregiously stupid until then.
