Is this the big tax rebate check thingy? We got a $600 check, like, a year ago? (I can't really remember when, but we definitely got the dough -- and used it too!)

Oh, and my guess for AL RBI leader? Belnie (that's the Puerto Rican pronunciation) Williams.

Did you have kids? And if you didn't get the check, you get the credit later on your taxes.

ETA: Which is different from the $300 rebate/early refund DTB is referring to that came out the year before that, which, if you didn't get, you could also claim on your tax return.

QUESTION ABOUT PURITY SCORES

Wait until after taxapalooza. I promise if you work wit me, I can drop your score a minumum of 20 points in a single evening.

I was going to guess Edgar. Which - although wrong by one year - still fits your response to a T.

You mean like typing in "spooky" instead of "mom, before the operation"? Yeah, I'm beginning to think he does shit like that all the time.

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

Some of it. Some of it is that, the way the character has been written for the last couple of seasons, she always seems put upon by others and never seems to do anything wrong. First few seasons she was sort of an amusing fuckup. Recently she's been sailing through life being put upon and dealing with adversity, etc, and it all seems sort of ... self-righteous or self-justifying, somehow.

For example, the fact that they did a whole show about how justified Carrie was to be pissed off that a friend didn't understand spending $350 on shoes, and then make the friend replace said shoes when they were lost, and the show was written in such a way so that CARRIE WAS IN THE RIGHT ABOUT THIS WHILE THE OTHER WOMAN WAS THE ONE WHO WAS A SELF ABSORBED PRIG is just, somehow, not OK. Real loss of perspective. The best aspect of Carrie's character was that she was an amusing fuckup, and its nice to relate to someone who is amusing while they fuck up. One is not able to relate to someone who may be amusing but is never actually wrong.

edited to add: but, yes, the marked increase in facial tics and body language that scream "I've been clinically diagonsed as a narcisistic personality" are annoying, too.

I am RULE 8(a)! You are Rule 8, the most laid back of all the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. While your forefather in the Federal Rules may have been a stickler for details and particularity, you have clearly rebelled by being pleasant and easy-going. Rule 8 only requires that a plaintiff provide a short and plain statement of a claim on which a court can grant relief. While there is much to be lauded in your approach, your good nature sometimes gets you in trouble, and you often have to rely on your good friend, Rule 56, to bail you out.

Yeah, those final round questions are tough. We guessed Manny. Another good one (and this is if people really want to procrastinate) was as follows:

A farmer wants to plant 10 trees. He wants them to be planted in five rows, with each row containing four trees. Draw the arrangement of trees that he plants.

I'm extremely busy so I often post using VRS, which has its limitations.

I received a check from Canadian gov't a few years back (Via Rail is gov't isn't it?) because a train I was on crashed. Via refunded our fare. Me, my wife and kids (at the time 3 and 6) also all received a 20 page multiple choice survey about the train crash (Were facing rearwardly or forwardly at impact? Did your head strike anything at impact?)

I was surprised there would be a preprinted form for train crash survivors- I would have expected a phone call at the least. Plus the question for the 3 year old should have included color pictures.

So Jose Canseco was on the sports report after the news last night. He was hesitant to give out much information on his steroid arrest other than "read my book, which is coming out soon." And "my urine sample was switched at the police station" and "it was a conspiracy to have me arrested." And "I'm not saying that Barry Bonds is juiced, but I'm suspicious."

"Oh and hey by the way, I've been invited to the Dodger Spring Training for tryouts next week."

Question, can a guy who looked obviously juiced last night and bigger than he's ever been, and arrested for steroid use/sales come back to baseball?

Congratulations! You are Rule 703, Rules of Evidence, Bases of Opinion Testimony By Experts! You are distinctly qualified to criticize profferred "experts" based on bias, or perceptions of bias. Your favorite color is blue, your favorite fruitcake is Josh.
