what kind of plan? Huge deductible/catastrophic only?
Most people, even our age, don't realize the actual cost of their insurance. I pay something like 25% of the premium, my employer the rest. So it looks like it's a couple hunny a month, when in fact it's way more. And that's for a group plan, and I'm young (good coverage).
I could trade in for a cheaper plan, but then I'd be paying more out of pocket, so it would be a wash. Of course, if I didn't have that fucking nasty shit I caught from your wife, I might roll the dice on the DIY plan.

We've talked about this before.
At length.
It depends on the coverage you buy and the group you buy it through and how old you are and how many kids you have and whether you might get pregnant and where you live and what the managed care market is like in your area and whehter or not employers have reduced coverage in your area thereby driving up the cost of insurance for everyone else.
I've been working on a project for a few years now to get health insurance for artists in the Houston area, and it's almost impossible to get coverage for individuals that don't cost an arm and a leg in premiums.

Um, for comprehensive (i.e., traditional employee-type coverage) for someone age 60, it is. Perhaps our incredibly huge retiree population is abnormally sick. But I don't think so. It's pretty diverse (because it's big! and we have quite the mix of employees!). You don't know what the motherfucking fuck you are talking about. Do I argue with you about whatever pissant business litigation crap you do? No.

I think Brandon gets his insurance through his day job. We're talking to his troupe to perform at a gala, so keep your ears open!

Funny, the only gang-rapes of young women I've heard of are by their Muslim neighbors. See, e.g.,
http://www.abrahamic-faith.com/Islam...rway-rape.html
or this,

If you're really concerned about your neighbor's daughter, then you better make sure that she isn't caught talking to some American boy; otherwise her father or brother may have to take drastic actions to protect her family's "honor".

And I stand by mine. That was the number.
ETA: I just reread that. You do know I was talking about health ins for a person my age? I don't know what a 60ish person would be. I think there might have been a miscommunication there.

london bombings

The bombings in Spain and the bombings today were committed with standard explosives. A week ago I walked on the DC subway at rush hour with a carry on suitcase. It could have contained explosives. The Iraq war (putting aside it's ultimate value) was never intended to stop the presence of standard explosives.
The web site pronouncement included Afghanistan as justification, not just Iraq. So Iraq wasn't intended to stop this sort nor does it appear to have been the sole motivation. In fact, I believe Scotland Yard has broken up several imminent attacks over the past few years. Some sounded like they would have been very very horrific- worse that today if that matters. Some of these thrawted attacks were pre-Iraq invasion.
To claim Iraq was wrong because of today, is to claim that the only response to any of this is to hope it stops.
Remember, in Spain AFTER the announcement of withdraw from Iraq, they found more bombs on train tracks.
The situation is fucked. It is the situation we are in.
|
Huh? You mean to tell me we would not be safer at home if we pulled out of Iraq? Blasphemy!

Are you kidding? We can't even deface their Korans without an uproar here.
