No individual game bets yet, but I bet the Astros to win their series at -120 and the ChiSox to win theirs at +125.

To follow up from long ago, Allen-Edmonds is currently offering 10% off its shoes. At least in the DC store I went to, but presumably others. Fortuitous timing on my part. Enjoy the savings.

Allen Edmonds? Fuck that shit - Alden!

"Police: Workers Gave Elderly Patients Laxatives To Prank Next Shift Patients Suffered Pain, Rectal Bleeding
IRVINE, Ky. -- What is being described as a "prank" that occurred last year has resulted in serious accusations against two former nursing home employees from Irvine.
Lisa Kilburn, 27, and Kim Congleton, 30, were both certified nursing assistants at Irvine Health and Rehabilitation Center. They're accused of giving laxatives to patients who did not need them, including older and medically fragile people. The patients suffered pain and rectal bleeding.
Attorney General Greg Stumbo said the intended targets of the prank were nursing assistants on the next shift. Stumbo called the conduct an outrage to human decency and dignity.
The two women were fired and face criminal abuse charges that carry prison terms and fines. They'll be arraigned Oct. 6."
How often can you say, "That shit's not even a little funny," and really mean it?

Actually, I've gone total fruitcake and started wearing Italian jobs. Santonis are great fucking shoes. I've walked through flood in these shoes and they hold up better than any others I've owned and are incredibly comfortable.
I like Audi A8s and A4s, but A6s bore me. Why is that?

If anyone else is interested, I can start a separate thread for support through the process. You have a little less than a month to think about it. Everyone I know who did it last year felt that they accomplished something, even if that something was crap on the first go round. Apparently a few novels have been published that started in NaNoWriMo.

Chapter One
Rene grasped the thrashing golden retreiver by the snout. The beast would not succumb without a battle, that was certain. With his other hand, Rene quickly forced the chloroform-soaked handkerchief to the dog's face. After a few seconds of clawing, peace - the animal crumbled into slumber. After he wiped the sweat from his brow with his beret, Rene pulled a thick foie gras slathered baguet from his supplies and stared into the glassy sea. This was no day for whites - tigers, maybe, if anything. Perhaps he'd even have to settle for hammerheads, Rene thought, as he stepped over the golden and made his way to the basket of chihuahuas and shi-tzus...

If you make Rene feed only little yappy dogs to the sharks, I'll buy it.

It's the creamy middle. The A4 is sporty. The A8 is luxe. The A6 is an unhappy compromise in between. None of them compare to my RSX Type-S, though.

Keep plugging away, little Buckeroo. Some of the most successful attorneys practicing today began their careers as staff attorneys.
