I'm not sure if I'll watch or not. The masks really creep me out. I was thinking Phantom of the Opera but then salon.com reminded me of the Eyes Wide Shut gala, so now I'm going with that.

I think the whole point is that the show has to be short on cute guys, or else why would wearing a mask matter? I'm just thrilled that she managed to eliminate a couple of the cute guys (bar manager and personal trainer -- both annoying, but hot) and kept some of the uglies around.
Unfortunately the bald guy will be history soon thanks to the "dark room" idea. that's a stupid idea b/c she will be able to tell who is bald or who has huge hairy moles on their faces. And the fact that she can see them in swim suits really isn't fair either b/c even if she ends up with a guy with a not so hot face, she can at least make sure she picks someone with a good body. So it's not really all about personality after all. (Why am I trying to make a Fox reality show internally consistent?)
Anyway, I will watch. I am a Fox puppet.

I watched the show and I laughed, a lot. I mean how surreal has it gotten when you have Monica Lewinsky hosting a tv show involving a woman and 20 guys in masks.
She didn't add anything except her name (what a dubious thing to add, yes?) but at least she was unobtrusive for the most part.
I honestly don't know what there is to say about it.
The motivational speaker guy is, well, kinda strange, you have to wonder if he is really like that or they told him to say that stuff.
On another note, Senator Rick Santorum today informed the country that if the Supreme Court should decide there is a right to homosexual sex, they are also deciding that it is ok to commit incest, adultery and bigamy, you know the usual shopping list. When asked my opinion this morning I said hey, it looks like we have moved up in the world, he didn't compare sex between two gay people to bestiality.
At least if he did, NPR didn't note it.
I'm so proud. Little Ricky is growing up. *sniff*

It sounds like your family is far more tolerant than mine. I would never have been allowed to interfere with a game being played by adults like that, and would not be amused if a child or an animal "ruined" the game by moving or losing components.

Dorkiness is measured by unfamiliarity with TV and movies?
I guess I'm a dork, too.
Guess I gotta spend more time with the cool people, sitting on my butt watching the toob.

I did think it was interesting that the guys were baited with the skanky girls at their house and then the tapes were played for our princess.

from cnn.com
BLUE ASH, Ohio (AP) -- Presbyterian Church (USA) officials convicted a minister Monday of violating church law for marrying same-sex couples.
In the church's first trial on the practice, the court rebuked the Rev. Stephen Van Kuiken but refrained from suspending him or removing him from ministry.
The court acquitted Van Kuiken on another charge of ordaining gays who won't adhere to a Presbyterian requirement of chastity.
Van Kuiken, 44, pastor of Mount Auburn Presbyterian Church in nearby Cincinnati, has acknowledged performing the ceremonies and ordaining gays. He says the church is facing a crisis of theological intolerance.
He has said he would appeal a guilty verdict. He has also said he will continue to ordain gays and to marry same-sex couples.
Van Kuiken was the first minister to be tried on accusations of marrying homosexuals as a result of complaints filed by Presbyterian activists in about 20 locations around the country. Some complaints were investigated and dismissed for lack of evidence, and others are pending.
The activists want the 2.5 million-member denomination, based in Louisville, Ky., to require ministers and congregations to obey the Presbyterian constitution.
The Presbyterian Church follows the biblical interpretation generally held by major Christian denominations that marriage can be a covenant only between a man and a woman. The highest Presbyterian court ruled in 2000 that ministers may bless same-sex couples, but cannot marry them.
The April 8 trial lasted for little more than an hour and was open only to Presbyterian ministers and elders. A guilty verdict required votes from at least five of the seven members of the Cincinnati Presbytery court.
Van Kuiken, a married heterosexual originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, joined Mount Auburn about three years ago from the Church of the Apostles in suburban Minneapolis.
n(so I assume that there is no celebacy requirement for the heterosexual ministers)cs

I completely missed the premiere (and thus won't watch it - usually have to see a show from the beginning). What is the general order of it, though? She winnows out a few guys each week? Is it like the Dating Game where she then sees the guys she kicked out? Does the audience get to see the guys without the masks often?

Consider yourself blessed to not be a part of them.
My parents' response to the news my sister is pregnant was a gruff, "Well, this is going to take up a lot of our time. I hope you don't expect us to babysit often. I don't know how we'll be able to rearrange our schedules."

I didn't watch Mr. Personality but I noticed that in honor of its debut, The Smoking Gun reposted the report where she describes her relationship with Clinton. And The Onion has an amusing little piece about Clinton too.

Yes, they called down the 10 she had dumped and as they each said goodbye they took off their masks.
The other 10 were then given different coloured masks, and we were shown what they look like.

No, dumbass. In this case it is measured by how connected one's eyes are to one's brain. He recognized the guy from Princess Bride, the line on the sign is from Princess Bride (and has been quoted here a million times) and has nothing to do with Iraq.
Also, please note that he himself said he was a dork for not catching it like two posts later.

Yez. You are a dork. But for different reasons, some of which have been outlined above.
Now go back to sleep.

Which is precisely why I won't become a parent, so as not to subject the tot to an 18th birthday party where they'll get a "Congratulations! How great that you're old enough to move out on your own!" and be confronted with changed locks next time they visit.
I do, however, make an extremely cool aunt. ![Cool](http://www.lawtalkers.com/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif)

The trauma of being young, lawyerly and lovelorn:

Note the article brings up that whole "guys won't date women as smart as they are" "women want guys who are as smart as they are" debate we had on this board a ways back...

(2) When CNN reports that a "senior administration official" says x, y or z, they know who it is, and they don't tell you. Sometimes this is important. That's the way it is.
(3) If the responsible thing to do was to stay there and report the unpleasantness the regime didn't want reported, where was the competition? I didn't see those stories on PBS/ABC/MSNBC/Fox.

No dog in fight, but my impression was that a lot of the WSJ's criticism was that CNN didn't just avoid reporting atrocities while under threat. It was that, to obtain access, CNN DID report, verbatim and without disclaimer, stories fed to them by the regime, giving the impression that they were CNN stories rather than regime propaganda.
