I always thought Smelly Cat lived on the street and was badly fed and no one was taking care of him/her, so he'd be icky looking.

And I know you'd be mean. I can smell it from here.

People who have issues with strong personalities use rating someone as a way to cut them down to size. Go cut someone else.
Translation: Now I have an excuse to never meet anyone from this board again, which will enable me to keep posting bullshit like, "38 people told me I was beautiful today." That along with the obvious clique of everyone besides me (and NotBob) will allow me to characterize myself, to myself, as a victim of my strength of personality.

The Black Dahlia

Has anyone seen this movie? Reviews? Even though I typically don't do this with books being made into movies, I bought and read the book recently (ok, I have 20 pages left, but I'll be done with those after tonight), and now I really want to see the film. I am unclear as to how Hillary Swank will pull off her role, but I am prepared to be pleasantly surprised.

My grandfather used to refuse to get on the colored elevators because he'd read Don Quixote in the original Spanish. That, he declared, made him superior to the ignorant, uneducated, uncultured white folk. I don't think anyone had the nerve to correct him, and they made exceptions for him "just this once."

Fine. You're heavy, unfriendly and unpleasant. I remain strangely entertained and/or occupied by this, too. Happy?

Did he ever say that you specifically amused him or did he generally say that reading the boards amused him? You sure are taking this "it's all about fringey" thing very seriously.

No, I am not serious. I am never serious. Except right now, when I am talking about how I was not and am never serious. I am serious about that.

Maybe.

He excluded only ppnyc. So it was at least in part about me. All of the rest of you should feel free to ask about yourselves.

Forgive me Flower, for I knew not.

It appears that my memory is gone. I did a search, and I found no posts by Flower mocking me. Uh, at least not mocking me for peacemaking attempts. Plenty of Flower posts mocking my musical taste -- you know, calling Jill Sobule a "grrl," my love of the "Acoustic Estrogen" genre, etc.

I am very sorry, Flower.

I should have said "no" to you in the first place.

I talked it over with a friend. She said that my outward seeking of validation is mirrored by me being drawn to cold or critical people which you are. That I then try to convince that person that I'm worthy.

I'm not interested in being cut down or denigrated to build someone else's ego up. No more. Thanks!
