tech help, please
I need to buy a printer for my home computer, and I need to do it later this afternoon. I was planning to get a four-in-one (something that prints, scans, copies and faxes?), but haven't researched it at all. PC environment. Any suggestions? TIA.

Wow. Frequency response of 16k is not very impressive. And why would you pay $900 for headphones to use on an Ipod that is a crappy source?
And that having crap in my ears is irritating. I can only barely stand the Shures because of the foam, otherwise I would have given up.

The HP four-in-ones have gotten good reviews, and HP has just come out with a model with a wireless network thingie built in. I was going to buy it, but it doesn't have a slide/negative adapter, and I have many slides I'd like to scan at home.

See, you're bringing them to all that psuedo-educational guilt trip stuff -- that's why you're miserable. I took the kid to Coney Island this weekend - poorly maintained rides, drunks on the boardwalk, Shoot The Freak (she wasn't tall enough for that one), fried junk food, sun, sea and sand. We had a blast.
I let my wife take her to the Sesame Street on Broadway crap.

She owes you that after the day she had while you were at Coney.. eh Shapey? If she goes to this Broadway thing there won't be much walking necessary, will there?

I love Shoot The Freak! I may have even posted about it in the past. the only problem is the desire to continue the game once back in the confines of Manhattan. Let's just say there are some freaks in Times Square who are lucky that I'm not packing.

When I was a kid, Sesame Street was on TV, where it fucking belonged. And I got some of the records, e.g., I Love Trash. But Broadway? That's ridiculous.

It is when it's delivered, virtually distortion-free, right into the ear canal. Don't confuse what a speaker delivers into the air with what these things do.

I saw both Sesame Street Live and Mr Rogers. I wish I still had my autographed photos. It is possible that the Sesame Street folks were on ice skates. I'm a bit fuzzy on the details.
How old are you, rp?

While we're on the topic of iPods

Has anyone here ever had their iPod skip several songs on the playlist without your wanting it to? Mine has been doing that -- I'll turn it on, and it will skip about a dozen songs are so and land on something way down the playlist. Then when that song finishes it will do it again, and will ignore my attempts to stop or skip. Reloading my music from Itunes will fix the problem, but only temporarily. I went to the apple store and the genius bar was booked solid, and I haven't had time to return, but the Apple guy theorized that it might be a communication problem between my PC, iTunes, and the iPod. This might be apple propaganda, but it also makes some sense to me.
Feel free to respond by PM or on the tech board. I'm still under warranty so I might just demand a new one.
(And Burger, please don't tell me to buy a Mac. I know I should have, but my budget won't allow for it at the moment.)
|
Is it possible the button is defective, so it thinks you've pressed it twelve times? It sounds more like an iPod problem than an iTunes problem--if the songs are there, so should be the playlist.

Buy a slide scanner--the results will be way better than a flatbed scanner.
ETA: And, everyone except RP, buy a Mac.
