Thanks!

Thanks so much for all your replies. I appreciate all the information, both scientific and anecdotal, as well as the encouragement. There are obviously numerous factors to consider. It's good to hear from people who are similarly situated. My fertility specialist mentioned that he has a disproportionate number of lawyers among his patients. He thinks it's because of stress. I'm still of the belief that infertility causes stress more than stress causes infertility, but both are probably true.

P.S.: Burger, you were probably kidding about the turkey baster, but that's generally not a good idea because of the risk of introducing air into the uterus. IUI's aren't very expensive (less than $500) and are a much safer method of artificial insemination.

Or it could be that lawyers disproportionately can afford infertility treatments, esp. IVF at $8K a pop with the gestator's own eggs, $20K a pop with donated eggs.

Also, lawyers are disproportionate wherever they go, because when your specialist hears 20 people say they're in marketing, em remembers them being at 20 different companies and in 20 different products, but when three people say they're lawyers at three different firms and three different practice areas, em remembers "lawyer."

Good luck!

Or lawyers disproportionately don't fuck, but look for solutions elsewhere. Kind of German that way (repost of ananova article).

As for the turkey baster, of course it was a joke, but based on a moot court fact pattern in my law school writing class, which involved same. and some legal issues too.
