Apparently Sony BGM and BMI have decided that since Apple won't open up the iTunes software so they can sell their music directly to the consumer for iTunes, iPod users aren't going to be able to listen to their music.

I guess I'm not buying the new Foo Fighters CD.
They can be ripped, it is just a PITA. BMG has been using that on their big-sellers for a while now. I think that the Velvet Revolver CD was the first instance that we (paigow!) found of that. Complaints have been sent to BMG, but to no avail. Mr Man can provide details (I know not of this stuff) (nor do I want to).

Just don't ask Mr Man about the drive that stores all of our iTunes crashing and our backup file ending after the bands starting with "G". He's a bit touchy about that still.

Glad to hear it. I like Dave Grohl. Think he's a fantastic drummer as well as a good songwriter.

But The Best is possibly the most inappropriately titled song in history. They should demote the dim suit who greenlighted that as the first single to the Polkas and Sea Shanties division.

Even hinting that that is an actual physical reality to anyone is disturbing. That would freak me the fuck out.

Tickets

So my boss just gave me her personal tickets to the Astros game tonight. As you can imagine, they are sweet tickets, and I have 3 to give away. I feel somewhat obligated to invite people from work. Should I invite:

A) Some of our consultants who have been stuck here for months. Upside: generates goodwill and good working relationships. Downside: They are dorks and probably would not be very fun to drink beer with.

B) Some other consultants who basically run the company and for whom I more or less work. Upside: generates goodwill and good working relationships. Downside: I may drink enough beer that I say what I actually think about them.

C) Cute IT chick with whom I have worked forever but never slept with. Upside: Tonight could be the night. Downside: She has a blind date tonight, and I'm not sure about the MFM thing.

D) Mid-forties attractive cougar who has tried to sleep with me in the past, but I turned her down. Upside: I will probably sleep with her. Downside: I will probably sleep with her.

E) Nice but unattractive co-worker who has taken me to many games in the past, despite the fact that I will not sleep with her. Upside: I feel like I owe her. Downside: See above re: unattractive.

This should not be considered multiple choice. All suggestions/replies are appreciated.
