The Ramones....
I read a story a few months back that claimed the rumors of his impending demise were greatly exaggerated, which is usually a bad sign.
Today is a very sad day.

DAMN YOU, PAIGOW!!!!!!
Money quote: "Last year, he underwent a brain bypass operation to reduce the risk of a stroke during or immediately after his heart valve replacement. "
It's close -- if the timing were just a little bit farther back, this would explain Little Nicky, though Meet Wally Sparks remains a mystery.

Youngsters Dying and Methusulahs Holding On
How is it that folks in their 80s are corking off while Brooke Astor and Max Schmeling are the Energizer Bunnies of the death pool world? The *younger* nonwild card survivors on my list are in their 90s and keep on ticking while the Rodney Dangerfields go into comas.

No; and Brooke Astor (102 or 103) will probably show up at his funeral looking hale and hearty.

Never knew what the Weather Girls looked like, but that photo reminds me of these guys, the Hat Sisters (P-town regulars who always wear fabulous hats). ![](http://www.towleroad.com/P-Town%20Gallery/Resources/andyalanandhatsi.jpeg)

Martha Wash is the one on the left. She is still alive and performing. Martha had hits with Black Box and C+C Music Factory. She had to sue to be credited for singing -- in the music videos, they used a lip-synching model.
