You can deactivate your land line. Why do you need it? We have DSL for our computer but no land line. Just cell phones. HOw often are you home anyway when you actually feel like talking on the phone? The answer for me is about 2 minutes per year.

And take off your fucking backpack and carry it in front of you on the plane. Are you not even aware that you're whacking people in the face who are already seated?

I still can't believe people wheeled shit around in law school. WTF? We have lockers, dumbshits. And I've walked 15 miles with 50 lbs strapped to my back. You can walk 20 feet with 10 lbs.
Note to Coltrane: you might have landed a better job if you'd actually used your law school books enough to know what they weighed. I didn't of course, but critical legal skills don't come that easy to everyone.

Oh, God, yes. We're talking about a totally outrageous paradigm.

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

You know what's worse than that job? Doing it, and having a partner tell you, when you use the phrase "bates-stamps", that a) Bates should be capitalized, because it's a name brand and b) we're not Bates-stamping anyway, because we're not using their patented stamping technology, but rather are slapping our own laser-printed labels on. A fucking Bates-stamp pedant? Yeah, that's the life for me. . . . the brass ring to which I aspire.

Be careful running a 2.4 ghz phone in the same environment as the aforementioned wireless network. They both operate in the same band and will cause interference. I suggest that you stick with 900 mhz.

Do you even use a landline all that much anymore? The only reasons we still have one are 1) need one for DSL and 2) need one for the buzzer for the door to get into the building. Otherwise, landlines are a waste of money IMHO.

Note to Alex, um, maybe this has more to do with your size and not the other passengers' bags?

You expect me to know what good luggage costs? Do I sound like I have a tampon in right now? Luggage? Jesus, we may as well be discussing purses.

And if its really that much, I'm really tweaked by the whole stupid gift. I could use that money to put toward a new television.

Another strange observation. I prefer not to talk on the phone when I am at home- bc I am trhying to quiet the mind from all the chatter (unless its AI night and I have to talk predictions). I used to hate checking the answring machine and hearing all the people who called who I would then have to call back when all I wanted to do was chill. A funny change from the time when all phone talking was done at home.

and yes I make a conscientious effort not to be a cell phone asshole..

You were one of those lazy pieces of shit? I don't want a lazy ass half-sucking blow job from you. You sound like the type of girl who takes two licks and hand jobs the rest...

You should be proud.

No, really.

Tell the guy that since Bates is not your client, you should be using its trademarks generically.

Only the people who jumped the row call, or who think their freqfly status makes them look cool sitting in row 14 as the rest of the 48 rows board past and beyond them.

(Us really cool flyers board last. No waiting in line, no herding, shorter sit time, no getting whacked in the face. And I've never been unable to stow carryons when doing so.)

I've worked with and left the employment opf such a person. Upon leaving, I said "You really ought to get out more. Deep down inside its very obvious you're not happy." He sort of agreed, and we're friendly to this day, but I don't think either of us has escaped our rotten fates in this shitstain industry.

I board when I'm told. And I've never actually been whacked. But I've seen it happen to plenty of people.

You check everything?

Wouldn't a truly polite person board when told? Because people who sit in the back, but board last, just whack others in the face. Yeah, that's WAY cool.

The first time you need to call 911 (if ever - I hope it's never) you'll wish to hell that you had a land line. You can eventually get through to the right person or firestation or police department - but believe me, it's way easier on a land line. Especially if you get disconnected - they at least know where you live.
