Yeah, not great. It's where my Dad sent me to get a suit while I was in college. Like all dads, he's a cheapass.

But if someone is looking for inexpensive suits, and has a deal to make them even more inexpensive, he could do worse. If you're not in the market for the $500 or $1000+ suits, they're not bad. What's the alternative, Syms or the Men's Warehouse?

Then it's fine. I still have the suit. It hasn't fallen apart.
The only problem is that, for the quality, the suits aren't THAT inexpensive unless you get them on sale. I think most are in the $400-$500 range. I think heading down to a Filenes or Nordstrom Rack type store to buy a $600 suit for $200 would be a better long term option, unless the deal he's getting is phenomenal.

You really can't answer w/o knowing what the guy's needs are. Filenes/Nordstrom Rack sale suits tend to be clown patterns, aren't they. Most suits on "end of year"sale from department stores are not basics either. If you want simple navy, grey/blue pinstripe, you almost can't get them on sale.
If the guy has a job where he doesn't have to impress someone with $1000 suits, and he has a way to get basic patterns cheap, its okay. Caution, though if he is buying several suits to build a work wardrobe, you don't know where you need/want to be on the $$$ spectrum until you worked in the job for awhile. He might want to be prudent on how many he gets.

Splenda
So is this the new sweetener or what? I've been using it in my coffee to replace Equal and it tastes the same. Apparently it's much better for you?
Please don't let this be the catalyst for another fat debate.
That means you, fattie.

Just as a side note, it is my understanding that Jos. A. Banks suits are entirely union made...I generally try to avoid Union made products, when possible....that said, I have a Jos. A. Banks no-iron shirt that I bought this past weekend at the factory store in Rehobeth and I love it.

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

As far as suit selection goes at Filenes/Rack, it all depends on when you go. You're right, sometimes the suits are awful. Especially at the Rack. But I would guess that our dowtown Filenes has 5 or more grey/black/navy suits in almost every size.

Splenda has been around for ages, hasn't it? I believe its just an altered sugar molecule as opposed to an artificial sweetener like saccharine or aspartame.
I don't like Splenda - the sweetener I am using these days in my tea is agave nectar which is from cacti. Really good flavor and is a complex carbohydrate so doesn't give that insulin rush like a simple sugar - it's low glycemic.
I don't sense another fat debate, but I do sense scintillating conversation coming out of this thread - who's with me?

Splenda is somehow derived from sugar, so I think they've been pushing it as "more natural" or something. I've never tried it. IF it tastes the same as Equal, I'll try it at some point. Equal is my friend. Makes me cringe whenever I'm out and all they have is Sweet N Low. Who uses that stuff anymore?

Sorry about the boring post.
Splenda is new to me, and they just started making it available in the coffee shops around here.
Isn't tequila made from agave? No wonder you like it.

It's the one sweetener that dissolves well in cold liquid. Well, iced tea.
And, yeah, I know you texans have no call for sweetener for tea, what with your nasty-ass sweet tea and all.

It's chlorinated sugar. Chlorine is substituted in for some other molecule, so supposedly it doesn't digest, and just passes through while tasting sweet.
Mmmmmm, chlorine!

Well, if you become the Splenda-flavored slut, then it'll have made a difference.
